You are asking for trouble with your paddle stowed where it is. When your bow gets a good dunking the water can come over your paddle, it will then dive breaking it in two. Stow it on top of the aka's.

This Adventure Island kyak seems to be doing about 8+ knots on a boom-less main sail, alone....impressive! A little bow spray is NO Problem.
