thank you! the game was released really close to the movie as well, so anyone else see a connection? this ending doesn't even make sense, because there isn't a way for the people who enter silent hill to become monsters. the monsters come from the people who enter silent hill, the people there can only leave or die. there could probably be a manifestation of a person as a monster, but that wouldn't make sense applied to this ending since nobody was nobody there beside alex

Considering this whole idea is 70% movie, I highly doubt it has any real depth. The whole Pyramid Head idea is nothing more than what he was in the movie, a gimmick and something for the fans. If he were anything remotely Alex-ish, he would be in the game more than three times. That's what he does. He hunts and torments those who have sinned, among other things. He's nothing more than a fan craving, that's it....

@DrsJacksonn Bogeyman, a.k.a. Pyramid Head, is a representation of judgment and punishment upon those who cause harm. The fact that Bogeyman is not particularly violent towards Alex and the fact that he is the one to execute Adam explains the fact that it is the representation of Alex's hatred and lack of forgiveness towards his father and others. The reason why he turns into the creature is not only because he does not forgive, but because he has the will to pass judgment and punish.

I think the makers of this game were "inspired" a little too much by the movie ie the pyramid head in the movie had a pointed front, the SH2 version had a flat front.

I think pyramid head in this game is supposed to represent Alex himself-just as all the other sacrificed children had monsters representing themselves, so does Alex. Pyramid Head represents his anger, hate, and desire to punish. Just like all the other demons of the sacrificed children, his demonic manifestation kills the parent that was supposed to sacrifice him. This ending is him embracing his dark side as to get the ending you have to commit evil actions. Yes I'm a SH nut get over it : )

He appears to James due to his guit/desire for punishment, and to Alex for his hate/murderous feelings. The original image is based on the cult's red-hooded executioners as seen in the "Judgement" painting in SH2 and both characters would have seen it due to Alex's father's connection with the cult and James's fascination with the town's history.

The one in this game I think represent Alex anger toward his father and his dad feeling of guilt for bastardizing him. Alex probably can see p-head due to either a subconcious guilt of his brothers death or be a witness to his hatred towards his dad. The reason we get this ending is Alex became a selfish bastard beyond redemption.

This ending makes the most sense to me, and it would explain why Pyramid Head would be in multiple games. He's both the punished and the punisher. He was there for James and Alex because they both needed to be punished for their crimes. The pyramid itself is a physical punishment, and having to carry out the judgment of others is a mental one. ...But I might just be reading too much into it. LOL! XD
