  • they had there taste yesterday.

  • I still get chill bumps from looking at this.. I remember hearing the ball thud and my heart just stopped for a split second. It was so intense. Valley played real hard. Probably the hardest game we had to play all season.

  • Once you go orange and black you can never go back!!! RHS yeahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

  • this whole game was unbelievable. i do know this because i played QB for valley the officials that reffed this game won't do a valley or richwood game ever again. from the botched first down that pushed richwood back to the sudden stoppage in play at the end to kick the field goal. it was our best game as a team and neither one could stop the other. whoever got the ball last was going to win.

  • @TheSimms10 classy post, kid. It was one of those games that no one will ever forget. Your team was amazing that night but sadly, the refs were terrible that night. However, you are right, the bad calls went both way. So, no one can pick out one bad call and hang the whole game on that. Ultimately, thanks for two amazing teams, the game was made for a finish like it had. We are all looking forward to packing your stands with orange this year and watching another classic football game!

  • okay the only reason why you won that game is because we got cheated. the ref was your vice principle? if we played you on our field i guarentee you we would have won the game. GO GREYHOUNDS!!!

  • @vhs0x hahaha Its so funny that people think they got cheated... Let it go guys. We won.

  • @vhs0x Played on your ifeld? shit we beat you there last year too. And its like playing on hardwood and carpet.

  • Congrats Lumberjacks on an impressive season and a very good effort against Man at their field... Richwood proved that they definitely belonged there and will be in the running for years to come!

  • I am so proud of my nephew Sam Tindall....I no longer live in West Virginia but proud to say i was born in Richwood and the pride runs even deeper now that history has been made...As far as the sore losers making comments about the "Lumberjack", you can't win all the time...It's life and get a grip, its time for someone else to shine and shine they did!

  • BTW, my previous post was in reply to "TheDuke89wv", not to any Richwood fans. Go Lumberjacks!!!

  • uhmmmm, theduke89wv, soooo, about man kickin richwood's butt saturday night???? hmmm. i'd like to correct that because WE WON! so eat it.

    GO LUMBERJACKS!

  • time will tell, Duke. You all better put some speedbumps on that cow pasture you call a football field. The Lumberjacks will be coming with a lot of respect for the Hillbillies but they will not be intimidated. This has all the makings of a classic and if your team is as cocky as you are you can put 11-2 in your record books..

  • you all do have a nice field...that happens when you don't play football on it...well real football anyway...if you can't hurt a blade of grass then you will get FUNKED up sat nigt

  • What a night that was, it was amazing what those boys did, and it's amazing what they are still doing. Let's Go Jacks! We CAN beat Man!!!

  • no....you won't and cannot beat MAN

  • Your post show your clearly intimidated...Get a grip...

  • get a grip was directed towards "TheDuke89wv"...Dont cut me down lumberjacks....lol...I love ya!!

  • where is the officials sudden stoppage of the clock with 6 seconds left and richwood with no timeouts left tryin to rush their fg team on the field then the refs stops the play for equipment probs but that allows richwood to set up and snap it with 6 seconds.. that's the big thing I have heard.. where is all that.. why just the snap and kick... afraid to show what happened before all that and lets richwood remain undefeated.. sounds fishy to me!!!

  • I'll tell you where it's at...it's on the same tape where the officials moved the ball back so Richwood wouldn't get a first down. Besides it was 4 seconds not 6...and we aren't afraid to show anything...we sell DVD's of that game.

  • WE got cheated! why did the ref move the ball? they dont do that, thats why YOUR vice principle was the ref!!

  • Give it a rest....The ref was not our vice principal...check your facts..besides this season is over and done...leave it alone..better luck to the Greyhounds next year.

  • @vhs0x Our vice prinicipal wasn't the ref you idiot, or vice principal was leaning against the fence as he always did.

  • So i'm guessing you're alma mater didn't make it to the playoffs?

  • What is your problem... so, your school has been in (and often dominated) the playoffs as far back as my memory goes... Now, a team from a very small (but proud) town makes it for only the 4th time ever and it's the first time they have a legitimate shot... and you're on here talking about officiating? Saturday's winner will be decided on the field and fortunately for you, not by the character of the fans! People like you give WV a bad name...because you attract the most attention, IDIOT!!!

  • Not sure how it's possible to be so proud of a team so soon after a loss, but I am! I can honestly say it's the best I've ever felt about a team... It's great to be a Lumberjack!

  • Yay. I go to Richwood Middle School and soon to be in Richwood High School. I'm in band I play the trumpet. I went to this game. Ahhh. That was a close one.

  • way to go lumberjacks

  • I was so proud of Dustin, Valley really gave us a great game it was one of the hardest i've ever played.

  • Awesome!! Great job guys!!

  • Brings back memories from my old days playing. Every one on that team deserves a huge round of applause!

  • Best game at any level of play in football.

  • I was just talking to some NCHS graduates from Glenville State College today and guess what? They are coming out in full force to support our very own Richwood Lumberjacks. They asked me to tell eveeryone on the team and all the fans that they are very proud of your accomplishments and will be there to support you to the very end!!! Go Jacks!

  • @FinalFlame35

It takes true character to admit a mistake and apologize for that mistake. For your courage we applaud you

  • I live in Summerville and support the Grizzlies because that is where my girls go but I am and always will be a JACKS fan too. My wife graduated from there and they have always had a place in our hearts. Very proud of this team and to make that goal with the pressure that was on the whole team was remarkable.

  • The 2009 group of Lumberjacks is an exceptional group of young men. They have heart, spirit, pride and dedication that cannot be surpassed. No negative comments can CHOP them down. The heart of a LUMBERJACK will always Bleed ORANGE AND BLACK!! Win or lose, I am proud to be a Lumberjack. PROUD of the exceptional season these boys have given. It is my honor to follow my team through the much earned and deserved playoffs!!! GO RICHWOOD LUMBERJACKS!!!! YOU are CHAMPIONS!!!

  • Just please tell me if you can or want to remember who won the first conference championship on Summersville's new astro turf. Just in case you need reminded that was RICHWOOD!!!!!

We could argue the pro's and con's of both schools all day long but I have better things to do ( like support a bunch of boys who have worked very hard and deserve our recognition. GO!!!!!!!!! JACKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1977

  • @FinalFlame

    What is summersville better at????

I believe we both have equal and just deserving teams.

Why would you come on to a Richwood video and post a comment like that. That just shows true character. We are proud of our boys. Nothing that you say or do can change that. @MrsJaya22....Thank you.

  • @FinalFlame

That has to be one of the most petty comments ever made. Allow Lumberjacks to be proud of their team. Your school does not play Richwood anymore. Lay off.

Summersville has a Wal-Mart. Congrats. That is simply the biggest accomplishment in the history of accomplishments.

  • im sorry and richwood does deserve recognition for their win

  • can't believe i missed this game..

  • That was one of the most exciting ballgames I have ever seen! That kick was amazing! I dissolved in tears when it crossed the goalpost!

  • The Cross country team watched "Facing the Giants" two days before this game,

    Deja vu!!!!!!!!!!

  • Brilliantly executed!! Couldn't have happened to a better bunch of deserving boys. Love ya all. Love ya Zach!!!

    GOOOOOOOO!!!!! JACKS!!!!!!!!!!

  • wvmule...it was definitely the best in my memory (even though I mostly rode the pine that year). Coach Whitlock was so freaked out at halftime, he almost slammed Hugh Johnson's hand in the locker room door! You should ask him about it...If we ran 30 plays in the 2nd half, 29 of them were running plays (one was a tight-end dump to Brewster...also for a TD!) Rodney H. was the Quarterback and Gary A & Jeff C were the running backs... Only game I ever played on astro-turf also...great memories!

  • RHS classes of '83, '84 & '85...Remember the '82 playoff season? Around game 7 or 8 Larry Brewster kicked a field goal to break a 14-14 tie and win the game against...you guessed it...Valley!!! We were at Tech's field and were down 14-0 at half-time. Coach Whitlock chewed us out and it worked... Best game I was ever a part of...but still, not as exciting as this one!!!

  • Wow! That sounds like one for the ages too. Coach Whitlock has been a huge help to the team this year. He has been scouting teams on the RHS schedule and reporting back to the coaches on his findings. That has proved very valuable, expecially in a 1 point battle like the Valley game. He is one of the many heros tied to this year's team.

  • Go Jacks! See you Saturday!!!!!!!!

  • Way to go Lumberjacks!!!!! That was the best kick in school history!!!

  • Very impressive kick for a High School player... Especially under the pressure! Go Lumberjacks!

  • Awesome kick, awesome team, awesome coach and an awesome season. It's great to be a LUMBERJACK!!!

  • that is AWESOME!!!! brings back some fantastic memories!!! nothing like a little hometown pride!!!!!

  • What a kick. I dont know what is more impressive, the kick or Jason Rogers jumping 3 feet high and running a 4.4 40 yard dash on to the field.... HAHAHA

  • hahahahah....so funny

  • Great Team effort

  • What a great ending to a great game. Glad to hear this little school in the secluded mountains of West "By God" Virginia (which is a differen,t bordering state to Virginia) made it to the state playoffs!!! Good luck mighty Lumber Jacks!!!

  • I was there!! I still can't believe I saw it. That was a good field goal for most college teams.

  • Love that I get to see this winning kick. So freaking awesome. Hate that I'm missing out on the games but so proud of that Lumberjack team! Go get 'em Jacks!

  • I am so proud of these guys. I can't wait to see them in action Saturday afternoon. GO JACKS!!

  • WOW I wish I was there to experience that energy and excitement!!!

  • that gives me chills! Perfection indeed!
