The stairs are in fact just going up/down and if you'll walk all your way up, you will fall, but from a right point of view, you can't see that it is ending. And it looks like it never ends. Pretty complicated;)

They made a hotel like that, out in California, in the mid-1970's.

The check-out time was very flexible, but you couldn't leave the place, (something to do with the time-space continuum, very complicated, Escher was the original architect, he died before it was finished) it got extremely crowded in the lobby and they went out of business. The original guests are still missing.

So you DO NOT want a M.C. Escher house. Trust me.

When I was a kid our town had a lot of hills and you could ride your bike all over, up and down, up and down. For years I tried to find that One Secret Route whereby you could go all around town and back home again, downhill all the way.
