you're labouring the engine dude, I got one of these, and when you're having a nice slow cruise, it likes to be sat around 4000 rpm, on faster runs, 6000 plus
are you still in the break in? is that why your taking it so easy or what? my sv 08 s model is flippin sweet it'll bounce the front tire all the way through in between shifts. hell it brings it up in 1st if you hit it to hard.
At least he has a bike. And whos to judge and say he should've started out on a "smaller" bike? thats such bullshit. It's all about practice, respect for the bike, yourself, and others, and taking your time with things. And try to stop coasting, I know you've been hearing that a lot, but it kinda just makes you look a lil dumb, maybe squidly, but not too much. Oh, if you coast around a corner with no torq going to the real wheel, its actually more likely to slide out, smooth and steady is key.
Why are you engaging the clutch every three seconds? Never engage the clutch while cornering. And as others have said use the front brake in combination with the rear and get used to engine braking. IMO you should have started on something smaller 500 and lower. Because you will crash it eventually and you want something which is forgiving. It's not worth wasting 10K on a bike which you know will crash. Something the squidlies do a lot.
When braking, using the front brake is essential. Because of all weight being pushed forward the front brake is used far more than the rear. Only scooter-riders use the rear brake only cuz' they don't know any better.
does this show your first rides on the sv? try to use the motor brake instead of the clutch when rolling along. @rear brake lock: using both brakes in these situations can save meters
Stop Pulling in the clutch. use the brakes and down shift...but nice video otherwise.
