Actually ... I hear some similarities to 10,000 Days and even Lateralus - the constant, insistent deep thrumming of the guitar, the controlled vocals low and mournful and then sharp and striking. Both Tool songs are amazing, but This is enduring. I just listened to it eight times in a row and need more.
hi allison. My name is Heather> I used to work with you at OLd sturbridge village village. i miss you guys. I would like to go to a sing. Could you give me a address. Or an e mail address so that i could get in touch with you.
Man your music never ceases to amaze me, the sounds, the imagery (especially in this one), the feeling conveyed in a wobbly voice. I mean, if more music were like this, music would be in a lot better state, that's not a comparison because lets face it You can't be compared to any one and to do so would be a disservice. For the love of god never stop making such powerful music man.
Beautiful photography and camera work. Beautifully shows the beauty and majesty of nature, as well as showcasing your song in its best light. The old book of psalms is a wonderful touch.
Hi Tim...when I first heard this..I was wondering to myself if u had gotten any influence from the Tibetan throat singers. Cause it gives me the same warm and cozy hum. thank you for posting.
Tim, This song reminds me of a Native American chant or prayer! Beautiful! Your music is so universal (or at least global). Wonder what response we'd get if we transmitted this into space...? At least the extra-terrestrials would know we had good taste down here! :)
You're right Sister to the East...GlenAnne99, this is beautiful...some really good work is going on out there isn't it? The Spiritual are gathering their flock.... A million Stars!!
Stunning spiritual chant, really. I could well imagine hearing it daily, as a way of centering on being one's "best self," or at least having a sense of the sacred. It's a very "aligning" sound, that drone coming from both his voice and the stringed instrument (banjo?)... :~) Precious music.
I just saw Tim Eriksen for the first time in Santa Cruz, Ca, and I can't stop talking about him. He easily has the most raw talent I've ever seen in a performer, I'm amazed. I hope to have the chance to see him again!
Your connection to nature is always apparent in your videos, Tim, and adds richness and authenticity to your music. Since returning to the north central Michigan countryside in February 2008, I've been reconnecting to my natural surroundings, too - walking, snowshoeing, hiking, but mostly, just listening. Thanks for your music/video!
amazingly filmed and sung. I can still hear the moon rising. (you said that in Poland and I believe it was about 'Every sound below', am I right?) looking forward to see the film!!
The hymnbook was a nice touch. Was that your book and your idea? And which book was it? (I noticed that the words of the psalm complemented the theme of the film.)
I particularly liked when they showed the book on the rock with the grass in front.
It's an 1809 Watts I brought along because I knew one of the interviews for the film involved psalm 40. It's not directly relevant to the song, but kind of makes sense in part because it works as a believable part of the landscape.
In the film, it looked like the book was open to Psalm 104, which really complemented that scene, I thought. (There is much natural imagery in that psalm.)
great to see you getting some exposure in this way...when i first heard your music in 95 i had you crossed legged on top of the north yorkshire moors a singing silhouette with many puzzled sheep gathering around!
Hey man. Yeah, puzzled sheep have always been among my best audiences. I was playing out in a field in Devon one time when a little lamb came running at me and smacked head first into the log I was sitting on. Then there were the cows that tried to eat my old Vauxhall chevette, but cows are another story.
yeah, it was mostly live. The mic and sound guy were hidden behind a rock. There was only one camera on the shoot, so we did several takes to get the different angles. The sound is mostly from the performance that went with the close shot, with a few bits flown in from a studio recording I did after the fact along with some extra location sound.
Simply Amazing! I absolutely love it and will definitely take the first opportunity to watch this film! I've been in a transcendentalist mood as of late and this fits it to a perfection! Mr. Eriksen, your music is unmatched and it appears that Thoreau would be proud as well!
HOPE?! The rocks sure do have a presence there, don't they. They get especially weathered up there. ( I'll be up from Amherst to Alford Lake in Hope this summer.)

You are amazing and I can't even tell you how much I love this.
It's going in my favorites and I might very well listen to it on a daily basis as a prayer/ meditation.
Thank You so much for sharing this :)

cool- there's so much to hear in the winter. Other times too of course, but winter sound best to me.

@batfancy Interesting you'd say that. Winter is so quiet, usually, here. What's to hear except the wind?
