Preacher A says the Spirit told me "this" and speaks on subject A and comes to conclusion A, preacher B says the Spirit told me "this" and speaks on subject A and comes to conclusion B, preacher C says the Spirit told me "this" on subject A and comes to conclusion C - Who's speaking truth? Isnt God's voice in EVERY case, how can you tell other than by current understanding of what you believe the scriptures are saying and your current understanding of what you believe IS the Spirits voice?
@sparkshot Test the spirits. If they speak not according to the law and the testimony (every thing the prophets have said), it is because there is no light in them.
It is not wise at all to trust any preacher blindly. We are to test everything and hold fast to that which is good. However, God will use preachers to get his word to you, when you otherwise might not hear or understand it. Once you hear the message, search the scriptures to see if what he is saying is so.
@jumanous Well said. It's the same when God calls us to come out of Babylon. No preacher or pope will ever say "yeah, this is Babylon, so head that way"...we MUST search the scriptures in prayer in order to know what to leave, where to go, and His precepts for us to know. It got me out of the Catholic Church in 2008 after 26 years. Line up what is told to you with the Bible...if it aligns perfectly, then its blessed by God, brother :-)
