This is terrible advice.. Advising to hit the reset button is hardly advice and its a total last resort after all else fails. if you hit the reset button and perform a cold boot all the data from your running application will be lost as the RAM is flushed out. Oh and a reset button isnt a feature of Windows. Windows is the software, and the reset button is a part of the case which attaches to your motherboard. If anything the reset button is a feature of your ATX mobo.

NO, there is a better way!

When everything freezes so that you cant click on anything at all: press "Ctrl+Alt+Delete"then open up the "task manager", find "explorer.exe" and press "end task" on it so it deletes, then everything will disappear from the screen. Then on the "task manager" click on "file" and click on "new task (run...)" and type in "explorer.exe" what you deleted before, and everything will come up again un frozen :)

I don't get the blue screen, my computer will freeze and when it does its blurs and has different colors in the line marks of the blur. There might be something wrong with the hard drive, because when I do get it to come on I always scan it and I have no viruses.

When I turn it off and turn it back on I can press F2 for the Setup menu, F8 for the menu that shows my options on how to start it up, and F10 for recovery mode, but I'm scared to do F10 because theres still some stuff I wanna get off of my computer before I try to do that. If i choose a way for it to start up on the F8 menu it freezes after I choose one.

ACTUALLY if your computer is frozen you may need to put in in the oven for a few minutes... id say at about 375 for 30 minutes then flip it over and another 15 minutes (or 20 minutes for hi-altitude) and you are good to go! Alternatively, you may use a microwave to thaw frozen computer peripherals, although you may have a hard time fitting the entire tower in the microwave in which case i suggest microwaving each piece individually (motherboard, CPU, GPU, RAM, etc)

WOW that was useless.

Toggle the PSU switch. Right. Every X86 mother board since like 1995 is soft off, meaning you can hold down power to cut the power no matter what, even in a total lockup. Much smarter than cutting power at the PSU.

Seriously mate, I'm not sure whether these people can get more pathetic than this. This is the second person claiming he can fix it, and then throwing on the table the contr alt delete which any of us has learnt the very first day we saw a pc. Bloody fools, and they waste your time, too, just because they don't know the meaning of 'frozen'. Attend some school classes I say! Try simply beating the side of the monitor with a large baseball bat. Give it about 3-4 good hard swings and try again. If that didnt work, try opening the cd drive and put a cute kitten in there to collect all the dust. If this doesnt work, place it in a large fire and have it later rebuilt at your local computer store.

Most motherboards don't allow the use of mouse and keyboard inputs during bios. try plug in an old style ps/2 keyboard and ps/2 mouse and see if that solves the problem.
