Out of the years of documenting Alcatraz inmates and guards I have never been down in the old old old cells down there. My uncle was inmate # 666 Willie Radkay. Look up my alcatraz stories.

i went to Alcatraz last Friday and i was with a group of people on a private tour and it was a midnight tour and we went down to the dungeons and it was some scary shit at midnight
I am a member of S.P.I.R.T and was there at this time for reasons of privacy I cannot tell you how we did it. The lights used for the workers were left on, this was a rare form of the tour. I was also on later tour, the later tour was what most people get, a few rooms and pitch dark. They used the Dungeons for only the first 5 years after opening as a Federal prison during the silent years.

You cannot just get down there. I was part of a private tour and only a ranger can you down there. Believe me, it is pitch black in there.
