  • imagine a jet powered lsa

  • Oh now that is epic

  • The company canceled production of this project.

  • @loh1110 It is not cancelled, I checked with the company and this jet is available and production starts this year 2012.

  • @AndrewParkerTV Really?! Awwwwww Shiiiiet! Then I'm ordering one in Navy Blue!

  • @loh1110 I just hope they don't get any delays, it's a nice jet it would be a shame to see the orders being cancelled.

  • @AndrewParkerTV I hope not.. I have cash out of my 401k to pay for maintenance.

Can you say "Flyyyyyyyyyyy like an eagle!"

  • It looks like an RC plane

  • I would become a millionaire just to buy one of these.

    I love Cirrus.

    ...

    (Cirrus, I love you)

  • I wish they cost $50,000 then I could have one:(

  • what's the chase aircraft?

  • @DRekkali L-29

  • @yoyoyoyoshua Actually an L-39.

  • I WANT ONE

  • gay intro.

  • 1:40 It's Andrew Zimmern!

  • This would be a great plane in a V-Hull Config and make it an Amphibian like a Lake Seaplane.

Or a Lake Seaplane with a Jet Engine, Rivard always talked about one, a 300k Seaplane would be a hot plane to take to the Islands, a dream Amphibian.

  • you can get bigger Executive/Business jets that seat 11 people, on eBay, for a lot less... but they cost more to fly.. its a trade off... a little of this, or for a little of that....

  • 1.3 mil? Dam thats expensive.. but then i dono how much private planes usually run.

  • @lyianx Then it's affordable since once this becomes 5 years old it would only cost 200K used!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!

  • It's the coolest looking small jet around.

  • That thing makes me happy in pants.

And the projected price really isn't bad all things considered..in the same price range as Maverick Jets..except those things are made in China of all places.

I just hope the real deal doesn't have that giant jousting lance jutting out the front.

  • thats awesome. the price needs to come down though

  • I want one... You know it's funny that most jobs in aviation start around an average of 50k a year (the commercial pilots drag it down) but all the aircraft to fly it cost 20 times as more. You'd think that employers that can afford to pay pilots a lot more...

  • I want one of those....dream on!

  • seems like an eclipse 400 carbon copy to me

  • what kind of jet is that. a stiff leg jet. come on!!!! the new piper jet blows it away...

  • i WANT one fore my Backyard:D

  • /rollneed

  • I love these "personal" jets. I wish I had the money... I wouldn't think twice about purchasing one.

  • 750,000? That would be a very good price for what you get. Comparte that to cessna jets where even the 1970s models cost over a million

  • Is this going to be the new "forked-tail doctor killer"? Remember the Bonanza?

  • The Socata TBM 850 turboprop has a high cruise of 320ktas @ FL310. Is this cheaper to operate, being that it's design goal of 300ktas @ FL300 is slower?

  • Very ice Loooking Plane There !!!

  • @RandomCaptionVideos

For sure, it's the most beautiful of all the new "personnal jet" in project since a few years.

Still, I prefer the look of propeller aircrafts. Love the Sr-22 and the Socata TBM-850.

  • 1:09 nice L-39

  • This is an absolute stunning looking plane. THIS is why you start a business like I did a decade+ ago. So you can afford NICE toys.

  • V1 wasnt that a bomb????

  • i dont like split tail airplanes

  • @Paintballboy54 its a v tail a split tail has two booms this doesnt.

  • Put some drop tanks on it and increase the range to 2,000 miles!

  • I always wondered if it has high speed manuvering cababilities. You know, *cough* for emergencies *cough* *cough*.

  • Jesus; I want one of these.

  • this small jet builds alot of ice!!

  • test pilot was not happy about that.....

  • Comment removed

  • My problem is that I don´t have enough space at my flat for one of those nor an airfield around: better an hellicopter than this crap. I can park it on the roof of my house without much problems.

    ; )

  • @arsenium666 "Than this crap?" Why are you looking at and commenting on single engine prototypes aircraft instead of helicopters? Maybe you'll see one of my comments at a video on an A-star or BK17 helicopters where I talk about how crappy, expensive and hard to fly helicopters are vs fixed wing. That'd make me look like a real tool, huh? Good luck with that whole helicopter-on-your-flat thing. I'm sure your zoning officials will loveeeee that.

  • very cheap and looks really cool under £500,000 its affordable but insurance, petrol and upkeep may not be so cheap

  • sorry for ruining your brand new phone with a bucket of water

  • it needs a parachute? nuff said

  • @cooldaddyy It doesn't "need" a parachute. Many chute deployments on the piston version were things like flying into inclement weather and not ending up in the side of a mountain or augering in the ground. "Nuff said?" I'm sure there were many that looked at the Wright Brothers saying, "wow, they are trying to make man actually FLY? What idiots, nuff said." I'm glad not everyone has an attitude like yours towards new projects or we'd all still be living in caves?

  • @flapsdwn "nuff said"

  • LOL its faster than the jet trainer at take off

  • The plane of my dreams!...... that's the only one

  • I...... want one.

  • Reminds me of the Heinkel HE-162. I like it.

  • the flight levels are no longer safe....

  • @cameronr310 its not going to be certified for RVSM. Relax

  • I live near the company who makes the engine.

  • is it noisy?

  • One of the main reasons for this V shaped wing is because they have to put a jet engine in the top of the aircraft. Conventional tail arrangements would need a more complicated engine positioning.

  • Sweet little jet. Still out of my range. boo hoo.

  • What a beautiful aeroplane.

  • Interesting how the decided to implement a Bonanza style V tail. From what I understand, that design isn't very stable.

  • The main point is: Pitch and yaw control should never be combined on the same airfoil. Thats ridiculous. Sure, it produces less drag, but requires more input from the pilot and control systems.

  • The video says, "It marks the first application of the V type tail on a major consumer aircraft in 60 years." Would anyone like to know whyyyyy they haven't used the V tail in 60 years? jofus explains all. Thank you jofus.

  • The V-TAIL; still good for remote control toy planes! haha

  • @Jonza0 True that the V tail has had issues with stability and input, but removing that surface area (and resulting drag) is what will allow the Cirrus to fly faster and more efficiently. Control surface input systems have also come a long way in the past 60 years. I doubt the Cirrus jet will use something that resembles the traditional pulley system-I'm guessing it could even be computer assisted if necessary. Also this isn't the first V tail concept in 60 years - check out the Eclipse 400.

  • Yes it certainly sounds dodgy to me :O

  • @sksakm14 dirty wheels down,

    attitude for bird strick potential?

  • the number of passenger rows combined with the variation in luggage loads will led to some situations where improper loading can occur. combine this with a constant thrust vector and you see the problem. throttle down and you may go tail heavy.

  • @datzfast

but if you have a decent civilian class fly by wire, no such problems will put you to trouble.

most fighter jets are actually tail heavy.

  • @nakazatoGTR you know what i hope none ever crash im not a designer and it looks sweet. i have unfounded safety concerns with everything.

  • well i may like this jet if i got the bank account, but i'd like the civilian version of the V-22..

more verstaile, imagine skipping all the traffic to go to office in.

then on weekends head off to some island for a getaway.

  • jesus, is this jet made for jousting? is that a giant peto tube on the front or what is that?

  • stability i guess

  • @amilldevil107

a big petot tube wouldnt make anything more stable, i think that mrUSAJAY was right

  • I think thos is one of the most unattractive airplanes I have seen. It is just plain funky. I thought the new Piper jet was ugly but it looks normal compared to this. The Diamond D-Jet looks much better than both.

  • nice plane but the price is the problem

  • Seems like ice from the widscreen/nosecone will shed right into the engine? I'm sure Cirrus has thought of that though.

  • amazing plane

  • I just saw this plane up close and very personal on 10-29-09 At Orlando Executive Airport. This aircraft is very interesting and looks very HOT on the ground, It is mostly made up of carbon/ carbon fiber / kevlar epoxy. There are still working out the bugs and the insides are pilot only, But still a very nice aircraft. Oh and by the way if the engines cut ot I think the pilot would know how to do a re-start or in the worse case use the built in Parachute system.

  • what is the blue plane name shown in the video in 1:09 ???

  • I wonder how many bags and purses are going to get crushed by those sliding seats rolling over them... It's a very scary issue that needs to be addresed!

  • Beechcraft bonanza for the 21st century?

  • dat plane look hot i wonder if i can get trained in 1

  • with the way you spell i wouldnt let you even sit in the plane

  • I wonder how they will deal with the FAA 61 knot stall speed for single engine aircraft? So far I have not seen any mention of that. The HIgh performance singles like tbm 700-850 and PC 12 have a 61 to 65 kn stall speed.

  • The take off speed is not that different than a light twin piston

which can be much more dangerous in a departure due to asymetrical thrust. And as I mentioned, failure rates on piston engines are much higher.

    CFII, MEI

  • People fly single engine airplanes all the time.

More singles than any other type.

Jet engines are more reliable than piston.

So not so dangerous as you might think.

In fact much safer than your car!

  • Well I am a PPL holder and I do fly single engine aircraft (DR400), aswell as Hang-/Para-/Speed- and PPL-C - gliders so I do have a fair amount of experience...but the high take off and landing speeds of a jet aircraft make an engine failure so much more unpleasant than with any other aircraft

  • When the car engine cuts out you coast to a stop. When a jet cuts out you could possibly fall screaming to your death, but yes how many qualified jet pilots fly recklessly and crash into others or the scenery compared to the sheer number of traffic accidents? ;)

  • When a car engine cuts out you coast to a stop. When a jet engine cuts out you glide to a landing.

  • @GerbilEssences Fortunately airplanes have wings so they Don't fall out of the sky. One of the most basic things you are taught and tested on in flight training is how to land power off. The three A's of aviation are Airspeed Airspeed Airspeed..

  • @HWMONTEI and it will have a parachute

  • @HWMONTEI lOL YESH MAN YOU PUT IT RIGHT ON THE BALL!

Even Turbo Propellor aircrafts are actually slightly more safer than the normal single piston engine aircrafts. But Jet Propulsion workks much better.

    Nice HWM!

  • They can make an airplane like that with 2 smaller turbines, example:

The airplane have 1 turbine of 200 hp,

they can use 2 turbines of 125 hp,

a bit more power and more secure.

    *I am just an enthusiast.

  • good point but i think it is a price issue more than anything.

  • you are wrong because the angle of atack in this aircraft

  • looks beautiful. the moveable pilot seat is a mistake. like toilet seats pilot seats

should not move. the v -tail is the best solution and looks great. there are too many seats and i predict the plane will be flown overweight too often for safety.

the most important company consideration will be can they sell it.

the answer is yes. yes yes.

  • Every left seat is adjustable to some degree, and none are to be compared to a toilet seat.

  • Go look at the Heinkel 162 Salamander. Looks like someone copied the German design.

  • thrust vectoring, nice.

  • this looks cool! 8)

  • Hondajet what? That's what i thought when i saw this video, and its made in the us! Wow, this is amazing and 1000mi range? How fast? What type engine? Thrust vectoring? wow

  • I'll go for twin engines over single engine though, as cool as this looks.

  • how so i would think safer but whats your thought ?

  • THRUST VECTORING RULES THE SKIES

  • a flying vw.

  • if I were a Millionaire, Id buy this and get its cert rating ASAP, but maybe thats why am not!! But il fly it before I die!! Maen, am in love with a flying tin can!!

  • Second

  • Cool Airplane - Come see "Born to Fly Airplanes" for a great plane ride !!

  • cool jet. needed to see the dashboard to sell me though.

  • What is a dashboard?

  • instrument panel on an automobile or airplane containing dials and controls

  • Ok, I've just never heard the term dashboard before and I"ve been flying for 15 years. Instrument panel makes sense. I thought he might be talking about the glare shield or something.

  • how about the avionics. Does that help?

  • If i had one of these i would charge cheap, take the seats in the back out and toss in a bed for backseat banging

  • ill take 2

  • ahhh thats so kind of you.

thanks for givin me 1 :)

  • lol.

  • The other is obviously for me. zeropointprophet your so generous.

  • For anyone's info the x-plane simulator game has this one :) It's one of my fave planes to fly in the simulator... and the flight model is very realistic.

Now I just wish I could buy one of these ... any donations? LOL

  • I want one!!

  • i wish i was rich like jordan178v.. cool lookin plane i think i'd rather have the diamond jet or the eclipse though.. another doctor-killin V-tail lol

  • I prefer the L 39 albatros!

  • This looks way cooler than an H-tail would have looked.

  • i need one for noel

  • put my Deposit down already 1.3 is penuts

  • i would get one

  • The splash is a must-do for first time flights

  • i quite like this plane

  • Look, Cirrus made a Bonanza jet! Tip for the doctors out there, STAY AWAY!

  • Im saving now. Its gona take awhile working at Mcdonalds. I think i can do it

  • @adam3176 lol

  • @adam3176 : Good luck! :-)

  • Beautiful!!!

  • That is the absulute sexiest aircraft I have ever seen! I think I'm in love!

  • looks like the eclipse jet! another toy jet.

  • Its a SINGLE engined jet. Why 1.5 mil?

And did the narrator say vectored thrust???

  • cus its awesome and hes special

  • 1.5 million is really cheap. I mean EXTREMELY cheap.

  • this is trash

  • The Bonanza V-tail has alot of yaw in turbulent weather, making it less fun to fly. How will this one overcome this yawing problem? If it doesn't have the same issue as the Bonanza V tail, why not?

  • Yaw Damper?

  • maybe the engine sitting where it does will act as a kind of vertical stabilizer of sorts.

  • The control surfaces are 30% larger than the "Doctor Killer"

  • This is not short of an aviation revolution. Imagine little jet like this instead of propellar driven pipers at your local airport.

  • Looks like a toy. No wow factor nat all.

  • lol it's name is v1, but it dosen't have one because it's a single engine, I hope it has a low stall speed, I'd be scared to go with a single engine jet, they can't reland in an engine out situation and high speed RTOs are dangerous.

  • any reason they didn't retract the landing gear?

  • Test flight they never retract the gear

  • SWEET!

that's the plane of my dreams... but...could we crodust w/it ??. ajaj

  • 1.3mil is a lot of money for a good looking jet

  • really? that is really cheap ,, I mean some rc scale jets cost around 50 grand?

  • doesn't the gear go up

  • Not in a first test flight.

  • Wow, beautiful, wish I could even remotely afford one. What kind of business should I turn to? This teaching racket is great, but they pay me in peanuts. Luckily I like to eat peanuts.

  • i'm 2 months old and i already have 9,347 hours of experience. my grandma will be giving her f-22 to me. plus my dad will give me his diamond-studded a380 with platinum covered seats. yeah, anybody top that?

    spoiled braggarts..

  • That plane looks fantastic. Only problem I have with it is that its single engine... but I suppose thats what the parachute is for.

Still, I'd much rather land on a runway with one engine than on who knows what with a chute, probably causing significant damage to my plane in the process.

  • I Like the design but it seems to small and delicate.

  • Maybe it'll be call the "Doctor Killer II"! lol

  • Looks a little underpowered!

  • Yes, because eyeball engineering always works...

  • I hate that tail !

  • pballa92, for a simpleton such as yourself, check out the video response. Alan explains how the downward vectored thrust is deflected.

  • Brilliant aircraft that. Dad's got an SR22 at the moment and is upgrading to the jet as soon as it is released for sale in Australia..and I get the SR22 when he gets the jet :)

Whats more is that i've racked up half my PPL hours and im still a year behind the requirement age :)

I have to say though, flying your own plane absolutely kills commercial. The flight may be longer, and slightly less comfortable, but the experience is fantastic! Flying is one of the most exhilirating things to do.

  • well are you a rich kid

  • Must be nice having everything handed to you. Im 16, soloed on my bday, have 30 hours logged, and have worked for every hour i have logged.

  • im 20....work as a slave to pay for college...never flown a plane...cause it is simply too much money....and if you are 16 and have soloed....i don't care what you have to say...i garauntee you did not work for ever hour.

  • wsandvik wrote: "...if you are 16 and have soloed...i garauntee (sic) you did not work for ever (sic) hour."

I started flying when I was 15. My parents were far from rich, so I paid my own way. I worked as a pin chaser at a bowling alley after school, and pumped gas over the summer. I could only afford to fly a few hours a month, but I did it slow and steady.

Young people today who want to learn to fly relatively affordably should look into joining the Civil Air Patrol Cadet program.

  • Interesting that the engine provides a downwards vectored thrust... I wonder how that affects fuel economy. Also how they prevent structural damage to the carbon fiber of the empennage from engine heat when the plane is idling or taxiing.

  • Hi, redbeast2

Actually, it's vectored up, not down and is not active but fixed. The resultant thrust angle is probably closer to level or slightly "up" when the jet is on the ground. Mr. Klapmeier describes it a bit more in our other video listed as the Video Response, above. (Find the description around 3:08).

    Glenn Pew

  • can u please tell me what is the name of the blue plane on 1:09 ?

  • L-39 Albatross
