I am here to clear up Yusuf. The reason multiple wives are permitted is because men were killed during battle. When that happens it leaves a lot of women orphans and widows who can not support themselves. The man can have intercourse with only one wife, but can have three women who have lost their husbands in war. A married man can not help another women unless they are legally bound in marriage. Would you like it if your wife starting helping other men? No, but the law permits it to help women.

The Prophet Muhammad said that a man should have only 4 wives and then went ahead and had over double that amount for himself, why?

Also, can anyone explain why God would allow a man 4 wives but not give the same option to women of 4 husbands?. Certainly if the idea is to protect women and maintain their chasity this would be the ideal method.

Why women convert to Islam is a total mystery but i do give Yusuf respect for trying to explain this strange religion of islam.

lol your quite lost. All of Prophet Muhammad's wives were either divorced or widowed, except Aisha (ie. he only married ONE virgin). At that time the permission for men to marry 4 women came down due to the fact that there were battles going on, leaving many widowed, so men would marry them to protect and provide for them. These days, there are more women then men and there will come a point where there will be 50 women to every man. What do you think all those unmarried women should do?

Please define adultery. As Muslims we believe in the message God has given us and in His definition of adultery, and therefor if a man was married with 4 women any intercourse occurring with each wife would not be considered adultery. Also important is a man is only allowed to sleep with one wife at a time and not in front of other wives.
