its also important to say that the maya region is part of mesoamerica, a region that shared several cultural patterns like the same deities or the architecture not only inside the maya region, but also the gulf coast, the highlands, oaxaca, and western mesoamerica.

Lol, the Mesoamerican pyramids appear more complicated because they look that way on the outside, but the Pyramids in Egypt have a whole lot more chambers inside them.
The Egyptians (or whoever) chose that shape because of the sandstorms that erode the rock. If you placed a Mesoamerican pyramid in Egypt for a couple of hundred years, it would probably end up looking more like the pyramids already there.
The pyramids in Mexico are also thousands of years younger than the ones in Egypt. Considering the great age of the Egyptian pyramids & the engineering that went into them, they will always be astounding.

This program is full of false information. It is trying to make out that the pharoahs of Egypt were buried in the pyramids when they most definitely were not. Just google valley of the kings if you don't believe me, that is where a lot of the pharoahs were really buried. Shame on you Discovery Networks, you don't want to discover anything. It was proven time and time again that the pyramid was used for other alternatives, there were no hieroglyphics or numerous amounts art work. Plus no carbon residues were found suggesting they used electricity as there lighting. Watch Ancient technologies that will supply additional information.
