Sounds like my 1999 opti 135. It starts sputtering around 2800 rpm. I dropped it off at a good mercury authorized shop today. I hope it is a fuel issue and not a dropped cylinder. My outboard was a repo and has maybe 100 hours. Its been a really good motor for the past three years.
there's "Mercury #1 on the water" for ya hahaha get an evinrude and never look back...they're the best motor's out there period.
