  • I would never use those jars.. they are antique.. worth to much money to can anything in!

  • Real nice collection of vintage canning jars! But where on earth could you ever get gaskets for containers that old? I have a number of the even older bail-type, but only use them for storing dry beans & rice.

  • are you willing to sell your extra jars?

  • WOW!!! Those old jars are collectible, some more than others. You could probably sell those and buy a heck of a lot more jars, being those are not the best for canning with it would be a win all around. You may want to check eBay, there are a few of those old ones worth serious money if you get the right collectible rare ones.

  • That picture was just stock. Check out the video where I have picked up the jars. No blue ones, but a lot of great quality jars nonetheless.

  • Use the blue jars for water bath... Use the new ones for pressure canning. The old blue ones might not take the heat and pressure of a pressure canner. Get lot's more lids (rings you can re-use). Think around 365 lids used per year - per person to store enough food to last you. How many years till the world gets straightened around if SHTF? Lot's and lot's of lids!

  • WOw! That was a nice score on the canning jars.
