Hi. I found that putting some (I use a couple of drops) room temperature (or warm, even better) olive oil in the hair while in the shower, and letting it stay in for a little before rinsing out, works like a charm as a hair conditioner! Make sure you rinse well afterward. :)
Wow I thought the conditioner rinse was the best product out of the magic line and i thought i could do without the styling lotion. But everyone is different.
@sweetbee06 Thank you! I never used henna nor permanent color. In the past I have used Clairol Beautiful Collection Rinse in Jet Black, it works great and strengthens the hair too, you can find it at mostly all BSS. Coconut oil makes my hair look jet black, without it...it looks kinda ashy, lol!
Hello, I found your channel when searching for tutorials on natural hair styles, however, after your tutorial I decided to purchase some of these products that you mention. The Dr. Bonner's castile soap is wonderful, the best , I used to wash my hair and body. I am now a EVCO, aleo vera juice and castile soap junkie, these products really work well . Thanks for your many wonderful tips and easy to follow tutorials
Wow! From a full natural, I gotta say your hair is gorgeous! :-) I'm glad to find someone who reviewed the Dr. Bronner's hair creme because I've been wanting to try it. Thank You!
2) I need to really learn how to understand this whole 'transitioning' thing. I don't quite understand exactly what you do / what is done. Because it seems like I've tried all that / this stuff before For Years & Years and it didn't work. They say "just take care of it", I say "been doing it for Years and spending so much money & time on my hair... ... ...so what exactly am I doing different or wrong?? Or what am I NoT doing??" And I never get an answer back.
3) But Thank You Again for your videos. Maybe if you keep doing them, I'll see SoMeThing I'm not already doing or have tried. And if you have ANY feedback to this comment, I'd Love to hear it & would Definitely appreciate it.
I love Dr. Bronner's and have used it for about ten years on and off. Some stores offer a trial size bottle for under 2. My favorite is the peppermint. I use it for showering, and cleaning house. The aromatherapy effect in the shower is so stimulating. However, do not get it anywhere close to 'between leg area'... lol... lets just say it'll be a minty sensation situation, LOL!!!
Dr bronners products... Very acidic . I tested them with my Ph strips, hair should have a ph balance of about 5 to 5.5 .. Bronners products are about 3... not particularly good for hair.. do what you will with this tip :) your hair looks great!
Great review. Found a new hair subscription, yay! We use dr bronners and aloe vera juice too. I have been using it for a year and a half. I have soft cottony hair and the aloe vera juice/cold rinse helps close my cuticles and set my twists. No complaints here either! I stopped using the coconut oil in my hair for a while. I will try it again soon.
I just ordered the Dr. Bronner's Shikakai Conditioning Rinse and I was wondering how to incorporate it into my hair regimen; should I use it right after I shampoo with the Dr. Bronners Organic Shikakai Liquid soap prior to deep conditioning or use it afterwards deep conditioning?
Your hair is has really grown. Keep up the good work. I'm transitioning with you. I just need something to help my hair comb out easier after washing. In the back I can not comb the root and I'm 4month post relaxers. So, I think when get rid of my other shampoo, i will try the castile soap and aloe vera. For now I think I going to look for the silken Chi??? after wash I noticed that work well after detangling on your hair. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
@Cwest2930 Thank you, if silken child doesn't work for you, I hear mane & tail detangling spray works good too...just hang on to your receipt, Sally's give you 30 days to return or exchange used products!
Hey nina I wanted to know how often do u deep condition with coconut oil and do you wash it out with dr. Bronner mix with aloe vera juice. I tried it and my hair was too stiff. I don't think I washed it out well enough.
@mrswhitfield04 Lately I've been Dcing only once a month w/EVCO....yes it washes out well w/Dr Bronners mix. It's very important that you don't over saturate your hair with EVCO or you will have a hard time washing it out...I dont use more than a 1/2 oz for my length hair.
Thank you for the review! I will look into these products.
I have a question. Do you have a video on retaining hair length? If not and if you're not too busy, could you please give some tips on this subject. I feel like I'm making progess in my hair growth but when I go to wash my hair, I'm losing more than I'd like to! Help!
@LanaBana2931 I will try to address this in a future video. Lightly Moisturizing & Sealing (EVCO) my ends daily is what helped my minimize breakage and retain length!
@ninapruitt Okay, thank you!!! I've been moisturizing with a mix of water/vegetable glycerin/aloe vera gel and sealing with a mixture of shea butter/EVOO/EVCO/vatika oil/jojoba oil. It's working well for moisture, but I still feel like I have a lot of breakage. This is only when I detangle though (on wash days). During the week, I don't really get much breakage. Maybe I'm just worrying too much, I dunno. Can't wait for your video on this! :)
I always seen the Dr. 'Bronner's products, but I never purchased them. When I use all my other products up,I will try Dr. Bronners,so I can see how my hair reacts to it. Great video !
Thanks for the tip on Dr. Bronners shampoo. I have two 32 oz containers and was afraid to us it because of the PH. I'll try mixing it with the aloe juice and see how that works. Thanks again,
I did your braidout that you had in your last video. 2 cornrows in the front and 3 plaits in the back. It came out SOOOOOOOOOOOOO nice!!!!!!!!!!! Best braidout I ever had, AND it was my first time doing a cornrow. Thank you for the suggestion and how you do it.
Thank you for the tip on Dr. Bronners. I will try and add AloeVera Juice to it. I saw on kimmaytube where she tested the ph and I didnt want to try it. But I think I might give it a try. I need a shampoo that will get my hair clean. I have a lot of product buildup and I think this will work.
Your hair is so thick and GORGEOUS! I have been playing with the idea of going natural for a while now and have been stuck at the 50/50 mark. But your vids are definitely making me lean more towards the natural side! I think my fear was that I wldn't know how to take care of natural hair and wouldn't know what styles to rock. My hair is long, it is similar to the length and thickness your hair was back in March. I want thicker hair and I can def see the change in your hair from March to now.
@bou9que The info on how to dilute the soap is in her Vitacost Haul video towards the end. That's the vid that convinced me to place my order for the shampoo mixture and I can't wait to try it! LOL
LOL i went out and bought the baby dr bronners based off your review and have not used it because of kimmytube. I will do what you are saying. So you are using 1 tablespoon of each? If so thats enough to clean all of your hair at once?
Love your videos! I use your Dr. Bronner's/aloe vera shampoo mix and I love it :) I did watch Kimmaytube's series on PH so I will test it once I purchase some PH strips. Are you going to post a video on your shea butter mix and your glycerin mix?
I have to try your shampoo formula. I purchased asample size of the pepermint kind. I was using it straight but I love the way it gets rid of my buildup. and I use it on my face and body.
I tried the Dr. Bronner's lavender magic hair creme product and loved it but I couldn't find enough information on the ethanol (3rd ingredient) that is supposedly alcohol so I didn't repurchase. Has this ingredient been removed? Thanks.
@micarae Yes, Im sorry it's still there (don't know how I missed that)...I did some research on that ingredient and it states "Organic grain alcohol (ethanol) is used as a natural preservative at a level that helps absorption without being drying", so yes it does contain alcohol, but it's a good alcohol!
@lynnyae18 I wrap it in a circular motion when I want it bone straight, I alternate directions nightly to prevent soreness of the scalp/edges. If I want a loose wavy look, I will put my hair in two buns and put on a bonnet....I usually do this on day 4.
Yeah I did a review on this on Hairlista, The styling creme, it did nothing for me as a leave-in, it made my hair hard, so I just use it as "Gel" to lay down my edges, but I would buy this product again for that reason, thanks for ur review, i had been waiting on this for a while lol
