But also the writers producers were planning some good time before this, cause they had to pitch it to TPTB and get the green light (i.e. they told CC and Jl until they got the greenlight), so the planning was prob. somewhere in 2007.

Nat's doing the same thing here that Liv did with Frank. She's pushing Gus towards Olivia to comfort her and make her life better. "To hold her and tell her that she's beautiful." Liv even said the same exact thing to Frank at the engagement party.
It's like it's their indirect way of showing how they care about each other. They used men because they couldn't do it themselves (hug her, tell her she's beautiful). God, I can't wait til we get to see a scene like this between Liv and Nat. Yowzah.
