the pictures in this video are actually fan-made pictures of a popular game called Touhou. There is an anime adaptation, maybe 2 of them but I presume that they're not exactly official.

Either way, the Touhou series is popular for its bgm, the fan-made songs using the bgm, and its huge variety of (female) characters

Pettan isn't an onomatopoeia.. "suru" would be more of an onomatopoeia than Pettan.. Pettan is just a word that describes someone as "flat" If you want an onomatopoeia for squishing "puyopuyo" would fit that category.. This is what happens when you pretend to know Japanese..

No, really, I don't know what mistake you're making, but "Pettan" as in the onomatopoeia of squishing something, not as in "Pettan-ko" (Which would then be an adjective or noun for being squished or something that is squished) Take for instance the sound of pounding something, like... Mochi. You would say "Pettan, Pettan" as the onomatopoeia. Puyopuyo is closer to describing something flabby. And I don't get what you're trying to say with "Suru" as an onomatopoeia. It just stands for "to do"...
