The real issue about the MPAA is their stranglehold on the studios. They have to "sign off" basically or the film has to be released independently so say goodbye to any sort of marketing or screenings in multiple theaters. It's really hard for film makers to please these old fogies and get a hard hitting flick into mainstream movie theaters. But you're right, the average person thinks it's just a rating. It's a death sentence if they dont like your message.
I dont know why Michael Tucker was angry with the MPAA. So they rated it R. Ok, anyone can still see it, they just have to be accompianed by a +17 yr. old to see in theaters, and with a tape or DVD, anyone can see it whenever. They didnt censor anything, just rated it. ok, get over it.
I don't have kids, but most of the people I know that do would not want them to hear the word "fuck" or see someone beheaded.
When Tucker submitted that film, I don't know why he expected a PG-13 rating. It does not matter what the context was, what matters is that the film contains 30+ uses of "fuck."
MPAA does suck but did this guy with the Iraq film really expect a PG-13? If the film has a lot of profanity then it gets an R but who cares, a film like that has demographics that appeal to adults...I just feel there are films that have gotten unfair ratings and that movie wasn't necessarily the best example
So the MPAA doesnt protect the interests of the public and it doesnt project or support a realistic view of life, it protects its own interests and the interests of those who fund it/keep it in power?
the pentagon sucks. thats censorship. they are hiding the truth.

Very powerful video.

why did you blure the pictures?
SwollenEyeAgent 4 years ago
I know, it's ironic, but I didn't want the video to get flagged or removed.
Thought it was worth making it so most people would see the majority of it, rather than none at all.
HatTricksInc 4 years ago
It is a really funny irony. In order to show a disussion on censorship you must censor? Freaky.
