Over the last 3yrs Ive learned so much about ARV's and I know how dangerous they actually are but as an employee in the HIV field I NEVER heard of it - at best I heard of diharrea and fatigue - its amazing how much is hidden from people.

I take frequent brakes from therapy T-cells frequently have been below 200. I have never been sick and I have been poz for 22 years I go back on treatment only to fu*c with the virus, I read somewhere it weakens it. I believe there are very toxic effects from the drugs.

This is my experience and every should deal with their situation as they feel necessary.

Failure

The Strategies for the Management of Antiretroviral Therapy (SMART) trial was intended to provide good information on whether this approach worked for HIV+ people. The double-blind controlled study began in 2002 and enrolled 5,472 participants in 33 countries. Unfortunately for proponents of STI, the study had to be stopped in 2006 because of the excessive number of "interrupted" patients who died or got much sicker.

I quit ARVs for the second and last time in 2003. I then quit all other pharma drugs in 2007. All of this is documented on my blog.

However, "gbfowler" has now deleted two of his comments, and "joanna" has deleted one of hers, which only adds to the confusion.

Apparently gb and joanna can't stand by their comments once I've responded to them.

I have cited the results of a peer-reviewed study, presumably conducted by some of the same HIV experts you claim disagree simply because you say so.

You dismiss promising information for thousands of people facing a lifetime of drug induced illness. You call this information "extreme"... I call it promising.

I hope most people who find this video and information are able to make an informed decision for themselves.

@19741joanna - If you had read my blog post, you would know that the LOTTI study found that "resistance" occurred more frequently in the group of people that took their ARVs than in the group that took treatment breaks.

The old chestnut that drug intermissions cause "resistance" was discredited years ago by other studies as well. Try googling "aids drugs resistance adherence" for a few examples.

And what's with calling people "stupid" for questioning the need for a lifetime of chemo?

Drug interruptions do not necessarily cause resistance. That's not the issue. (As long as someone is on treatment, and they take their meds 95% of the time, resistance will not occur).

The problem with treatment interruptions is viral replication and the unchecked inflammatory process.

The drugs now are so much better than they were 15 years ago, that although they are still toxic, the virus tin the body does much more harm than the drugs do.

Google the SMART study.

RIF whats your position on starting HAART at all? Dont you think there is a good reason to publish data that interuption is not a reason to never go back on ARVs?

I personally see no reason for otherwise healthy people to take such powerful drugs based solely on the Gallo antibody test (aka "HIV-tests").

There is a multi-billion dollar industry promoting prescription drugs for every ill, including those caused by drug use. My purpose is to provide an alternative perspective.

The prevailing view that a lifetime treatment with HAART should be undertaken soon after diagnosis does not need additional support from me.

This, after being told for years by so many AIDS specialists and officials that treatment interruptions were irresponsible, dangerous, suicide, etcetera...

This isn't news at all to me, as I've literally known dozens of people over the years that actually quit, or never really took the drugs prescribed to them ! I've spoken to so many people who have confidentially told me that they just told doctors friends and relatives, that they were taking them, just for relief from being coerced!
