When i started going to the gym nearby i was fairly overweight to say the least that very day a total stranger, fairly buff, knows a few people in the gym, helped me with a workout when i was doing the reps wrong, he helped me build a routine and i dropped 50 pounds of fat since then and still go to that very gym to this day and get along fine with the regulars. Don't generalize every gym out there, you're discouraging people more than this guy does.

This ad is awesome. Kinda mean, but it's pretty true. Most overweight people could look at least half way decent if they just put down the Twinkies and Ho Ho's and got their asses into a gym a couple times per week.
Sure a small percentage actually have some thyroid problem or some other condition that keeps them heavy but that is the minorty and not the majority!

The first time I saw this commercial, I couldn't believe it was real. Then I thought about all the overweight people (especially teen girls) who would see this and feel bad about themselves. I'm a teen girl, and I know that I'm still pretty even though I'm a little overweight. This commercial wouldn't make girls my age want to lose weight. It would make them want to lock themselves in the bathroom and make themselves throw up. Thank you antigym, you're all idiots.

I meant being super skinny and not fit. People can be skinny but very unhealthy. I was just commenting how people, in America anyway, seem to obsess on people's weight, especially the females. However, yes, genetically, straight men be seem to find the "hourglass" figure very sexy. The wide hips are a sign of fertility as well as symmetry. In the other hand, culture effects this view on attractiveness as well.

So, how is this supposed to get people to lose weight? Overweight people get enough stink-eyes when they go into a gym, so why would a man shrieking about how hideous they are get them to go more often? I'm not that fat, and I definitely don't wolf down entire pies, but I still had gym rats edging away from me like I was contagious when I worked out at a gym. I work out at home now.

When i started going to the gym nearby i was fairly overweight to say the least that very day a total stranger, fairly buff, knows a few people in the gym, helped me with a workout when i was doing the reps wrong, he helped me build a routine and i dropped 50 pounds of fat since then and still go to that very gym to this day and get along fine with the regulars. Don't generalize every gym out there, you're discouraging people more than this guy does.

For example, if I said "I don't hate child molesters, just their behavior," it makes no sense. This guy was recently on a news show blasting Kevin Smith, saying it was his own fault he got kicked off that plane.
