The current Health Care Bill being considered by Congress contains over 2,400 pages, and it creates 111 new agencies, and countless panels and committees.
It doesn't conform to any other successful working models of Health Care used by other Nations.
It will begin with an immediate increase in taxes, but it will not begin to provide services for over 3 years from now.
Now, who in their right mind would think such a bureaucracy will work, alone save more lives and money?

When you're uninsured and the doc's office demands to hold a credit card and ID just to see the doc., are charged $200, are given the wrong antibiotics, pay another $50, etc. how can we say we've got the best?? One of the biggest problems with the government running any program is they do not have a good track record of operating efficiently. Short of leaving the U.S. it's not like the clientele (us) can choose another option, especially when it is forced upon you.
I would rather see programs made available for people who really need it. Affordable health care can not be a reality when our taxes are raised and we only receive a fraction of service from our taxes.

Meanwhile, useless assholes like Matt Lauer who support Obama are earning 13.5 MILLION dollars annually for less than ten hours of work each week.

As primary care physicians are going to be expected to see double the amount of patients while handling double the redundant amount of paperwork we have now, this will result in even less time allowed for each patient visit and decreased quality of health care. However, it is a boon to malpractice lawyers as stressed, sleepless doctors working 90+ hour weeks, seeing upwards of 75 patients per day will be making a great deal more errors.

An injured patient must convince an attorney that his/her case to shoulder the cost of putting on a trial. On average, malpractice attorneys will do this for three percent of their cases...I can go on.
Although it is true that malpractice insurance is as high as $250,000, there is no correlation between this ridiculously high insurance and actual payouts. The fact of the matter is most doctors will never pay out a claim in an entire career. Most doctors who do have a payout wind up paying out multiple claims. Most who pay out multiple claims will never have to account for their actions in front of a medical licensure board. What drives most malpractice claims is the malpractice itself.
Still, $250,000/year is a hell of a lot to pay yearly for a ob/gyn and many such practices cannot sustain themselves simply because of the costs. A physician paying back the typical medical school loan debt of $200,000 will have to pay 1000 monthly minimum, and that's if he is on the twenty-year payback plan, which can be very costly over time with interest of 3.5% minimum.
And with the increase in taxes for those earning above $200,000 (a plan that doesn't take into account costs to run a business, providing insurance to all clinic employees as according to Obama's desired requirements, and paying loan debts and malpractice insurance) how in the world is somebody, working himself to death, 80 hours/week while studying for recertification exams and daily defending himself from the -threat- of lawsuits, going to...
...earn ($400,000 - $150,000 in taxes -$250,000 malpractice -$12,000 loan debts, - expenses for his own practice = a large negative number) going to even afford to eat??
There's a good reason why physicians in U.S. have the highest divorce rates (no time for family) and suicide rates (the stress of the constant threat of lawsuits and having to work double shifts, even when we are very ill) of all professions. It's only going to get worse for us.
In fact I do, one of my review books for the Step 1: Board Review Series for Behavioral Sciences, by Doctor Barbara Fadem. The statistics on divorce and suicide rates per profession should be in there. Unless it has changed from the edition I read, doctors and dentists have the highest rates.
Those who work in Family Practice or in Internal Medicine, specifically those who are unfellowshipped, squeak by via working nearly double the amount of what is considered "full time" in most occupations. Considering the 10+ years it takes for us to go through premed, med, and residency, the expenses of $25,000 per year for school, etc., we should be entitled to at least earn enough to catch up to those who were working without an education 10 years before us and "living the good life". :)

First, health care in the United States represents a huge chunk of total income including premiums, copayments, and prescriptions, loss in productivity. Lower health care costs, and the economy improves significantly as a result.
Second, it makes no sense to criticize Obama for winning the Nobel Prize. He was just as shocked as everyone else. Nevertheless, he won it for multilateral diplomacy...which he has done.

plus, just as a reminder, capitalism is spured by competition. The reason why ins.cos can get away with anything is because there's no one to compete with them; they amongst themselves are all the same. With a public plan to compete with, they will have to keep innovating and coming up with ways to insure EVERYONE for less. It they go bankrupt, it means they are too greedy and new ones will emerge. They make billions in profit, they can afford to lower their premiums and extend coverage.

The US does NOT have the best health care in the world. It does have that potential though. When you're uninsured and the doc's office demands to hold a credit card and ID just to see the doc., are charged $200, are given the wrong antibiotics, pay another $50, etc. how can we say we've got the best?? Far from it. I don't like the ins. co.s that charge outrageous premiums, can reject you coverage any time, plus you pay co-pays and for meds. I don't know, sounds like tyrany to me not freedom

One of the biggest problems with the government running any program is they do not have a good track record of operating efficiently. Short of leaving the U.S. it's not like the clientele (us) can choose another option, especially when it is forced upon you.
I would rather see programs made available for people who really need it. Affordable health care can not be a reality when our taxes are raised and we only receive a fraction of service from our taxes.
We will be paying for a beaucracy..

However, had Rome tried to include the barbarians rather than stealing all of their resources abroad and causing widespread starvation for the greed of the few, their empire might not have collapsed. As primary care physicians are going to be expected to see double the amount of patients while handling double the redundant amount of paperwork we have now, this will result in even less time allowed for each patient visit and decreased quality of health care. However, it is a boon to malpractice lawyers as stressed, sleepless doctors working 90+ hour weeks, seeing upwards of 75 patients per day will be making a great deal more errors.

Although it is true that malpractice insurance is as high as $250,000, there is no correlation between this ridiculously high insurance and actual payouts. The fact of the matter is most doctors will never pay out a claim in an entire career. Most doctors who do have a payout wind up paying out multiple claims. Most who pay out multiple claims will never have to account for their actions in front of a medical licensure board. What drives most malpractice claims is the malpractice itself.

Still, $250,000/year is a hell of a lot to pay yearly for a ob/gyn and many such practices cannot sustain themselves simply because of the costs. A physician paying back the typical medical school loan debt of $200,000 will have to pay 1000 monthly minimum, and that's if he is on the twenty-year payback plan, which can be very costly over time with interest of 3.5% minimum.

There's a good reason why physicians in U.S. have the highest divorce rates (no time for family) and suicide rates (the stress of the constant threat of lawsuits and having to work double shifts, even when we are very ill) of all professions. It's only going to get worse for us.

In fact I do, one of my review books for the Step 1: Board Review Series for Behavioral Sciences, by Doctor Barbara Fadem. The statistics on divorce and suicide rates per profession should be in there. Unless it has changed from the edition I read, doctors and dentists have the highest rates.

Those who work in Family Practice or in Internal Medicine, specifically those who are unfellowshipped, squeak by via working nearly double the amount of what is considered "full time" in most occupations. Considering the 10+ years it takes for us to go through premed, med, and residency, the expenses of $25,000 per year for school, etc., we should be entitled to at least earn enough to catch up to those who were working without an education 10 years before us and "living the good life". :)

...continued: the most expensive pharmaceuticals in the world (thanks to the pharmaceutical companies which pad the wallets of politicians, convincing them to continue ignoring the skyrocketing costs), a malfunctioning system where doctors have to spend so many hours with paperwork covering their asses that it takes away 90% of their time they could spend with patients, and and utter lack of advocates for physicians in government (the AMA are cowardly "yes men", so they don't count).

The government isn't getting too big. What we've seen is huge corporations get too big. Huge corporations control our media, financial markets, and our energy. They form coalitions like the American Petroleum Institute and The U.S. Chamber of Commerce. These Republican groups try to pressure our government into making policy that helps them and hurts the average person.

First, health care in the United States represents a huge chunk of total income including premiums, copayments, and prescriptions, loss in productivity. Lower health care costs, and the economy improves significantly as a result.
Second, it makes no sense to criticize Obama for winning the Nobel Prize. He was just as shocked as everyone else. Nevertheless, he won it for multilateral diplomacy...which he has done.

How do you figure? They don't qualify for Medicaid or Medicare. Since their employers are trying to hide illegals on the books, they are not insured (not that the industries illegals work in typically offer benefits).
