As a child I know how to love before i learn the "why" to love. I know how to smile before someone teaches me. I feel beauty inside me yet i have no memories of anything, its just a effortless state of being which defies description for the word is never the thing.
Life isn't a photo which is linked to something dead, finished, static. Thoughts are series of photographs. If you try to live according to them you constaly crash against reality which is something constantly moving, alive, fresh.
You must be pretty mentally inept or dumb to believe that all that a child needs is food.
Just because you can't see something as true that doesnt make it "romantic bullshit". 30,000 kids die and no amount of my feeling bad is going to do anything. If i change as a person and each one of us change maybe we will reach a point where we won't have these sad events happening. Till then your "sadness" about it is as useless as arguing.
Beauty is something you feel when the burden of the "me" which you carry with you is not. Unless you can actually see for yourself what I mean words have no meaning. They are as useless as romantic bullshit, but to see it it has NOTHING to do with words.
Thoughts(words) are necessary in order to communicate how you feel to others.Thoughts give "form" to what you felt.Thoughts are descriptions and never the actual thing.A description is obviously never the described but just a pointer. So simple
I wake up and I feel beautiful. There is no reason for it nor am "thinking" in order to feel "beautiful". Its a feeling which isn't self centered nor it relies on the intellect. If thought has created this sense of "happiness" then it is pleasure and its a feeling related to something which you, your ego gives it importance and sooner or later it will end. Thoughts are static, dead things, transient, they are funded from knowledge(past) and they can't sustain happily a living organism like a human.
Epictetus if you can't see beyond words I don't think that anything will evere "amaze" you. Don't confuse the menu from the meal. Memory leads to pleasure, being in the now leads to beauty.
I think your comment makes some sense. Afterall "language" is a humane invention. My question to you however is how can we actually see "through" the true meaning of words? I am terribly confused really after reading so much in my life.....I know the Mr. Krishnamurti's teaching leads to the "Truth" that others try to find, yet I guess I am still trapped by the superficiality of words!
To see duality as duality is perfection. To see relative things as relative things is perfection. The confusion is when you imagine relative things as absolute. What is free from words can appear when you become aware that "the word is not the real thing" as K said.
It is impossible to be "aware" without the recognition of thought and memory. If you are aware without the past then you see only dots and colors...there is not beauty since you need knowledge to say something is beautiful. It would be a state of amnesia.
There is nothing to see without memory and knowledge. Period. K is probably self deluded or a fraud.
something is not beautiful because we say it is beautiful! its a perception! what would a dumb person say about it! would he not feel beauty because he cant say it
A dumb person would "feel" beauty because "feeling" like "thinking" comes from a reaction to a stored memory. Speech has nothing to do with it.
You find your hometown nostalgically beautiful because of past memories.
By itself, a tree is something...that a dog pisses on, that a bird lives on. A flower is something that has colors or smell to attract bees and bugs that get food and pollinate in return.....and so on.
And what happens when you don't think what is, when you don't envelop the world with concepts, percepts ? The field of consciousness becomes infinite. There is only Being, Sat.
Please, do not stay a prisoner of words, of thoughts. Of course, you cannot recognize objects without memory. The problem is not there. If you see things as they are, juste representations, so you cannot be caught by illusion, so that your actions will be free from conditioning.
i am glad you mentioned K's personal life..nobody seems to want to take into account the way he led his life. if his personal life didnt reflect his teachings, then his teachings were false..
The way he led his life is not for you to know, as you can not now. People said of Jesus he is a drunk and a friend of the harlots and nothing more; but the life is led within. What is outside, on the surface, is quite unlikely the true criteria. Anyway, who are you to judge anbody? If you remain merely a moralizer for a rest of your life, it is quite unlikely for you to find the truth of anything. Concentrate on the relevant and quit criticising people beyond your level of understanding.
who are you to judge and say that i should quit criticising people beyond my level. I dont think K thought he was beyond anybody's level...thats the Ego bruv..you get me?
Of all the things I wrote you decided to comment on "quit criticising people beyond your level of understanding. " Think about why, maybe you `ll learn something about your self.

That's a bunch of romantic bullshit and you know it. As a child you want food, that's all...you love your parents because they feed you! Period.
You cannot talk about the beauty you feel without the use of memory and knowledge and words....that's impossible.
How can you feel beauty when 30,000 kids that are dying of starvation everyday???????
Dont fool yourself....well actually i dont care...heh.heh.

He did not want to people to refer to him as a teacher or a guru.
Exept from his conferences, he did not write any books. he reffered to himself as the 'the speacker'
