They do not depend on land warrior, they are happy with its performance as it proves to be an effective asset on the battlefield. If the system fails in the field then they will most likely revert back to their regular training.
i'm curently working w/ this system & hav ben 4 almost a year really the sysytem n its current form is a problem its great 4 the higher ups who dont go out but thos who do go out r screwed its 2 heavy & goes down 2 often & now soldiers depend way 2 much on tech's 2 remember how to use a map & compas land nav is a parishable skill & soldiers cant effectivly read a map & terrain associate n/e more leaving them helpless when tech fails. only thing that you can rely on wit tech is it will fail
Your "parts list" is cute, but won't make you a Land Warrior system. I've actually handled one of these bad boys, back when I was in 2nd CR (before they rebadged to 4-2 ID). I wasn't a great soldier, and I don't want to add "treason" to my list of offenses, but I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that you're little toy doesn't come close to the capabilities of the Lan Warrior.

For example, let's suppose that you could equip 1000 soldiers and call 'em Land Warriors.
They could do the job of 100000 other less equiped men and could stop a conflict before it could awake, they could stop an offensive between 2 countries simply with 8 hours of mission, without the rivers of blood that the offensive would provoke. This video is LoL alot of troops say the system makes them too slow, slow = dead. The army is remaking the system >_> puting HUD in eye contact leds few years off. Looking though the big eye patch thing, its just a large map, makes you less aware and slow. The Eye Leds Contact thing is cool, having HED pops in your eye with info, dont wanta overload the guy with info.
I should hope if we ever got that in the in the British military, that would be the case, the yanks do tend to cut corners however... It is amazing all the same, i just wonder really how effective it would be in say the jungle, rain, asymetric warfare, electrinic warfare etc. Seems like a good invention but a little late; seems conventional warefare is going out the window to a certain extent. Well the original reason for the war was something else, weapons that didn't exist. That was the first reason. Why did Iraqi officials call the invasion beastly ? Why did so many of them take up arms and fight if they wanted the Americans there ? Iraq isn't better now man. Just quiet at the minute. In the last 100 years Iraq has been occupied for nearlly 50 of them. Through the 90s the US and Britain bombed Iraq every day and caused the deaths of half a million children through sanctions.

Iraq is better now, and will continue to be better.
The sanctions are the best for nearby neighbors, incase you didn't know, Iraq hasn't been the most peaceful of countries.

He killed his own people with chemical weapons, true. But that's why the US destroyed his army and chem labs in the first gulf war. The weapons inspectors and the Bush administration said there were no weapons after they invaded. And whether or not Clinoton bombed Iraq in the 90s isn't even under question, check out the "no fly zone" and how could he get rid of weapons the second time if he couldn't even get asprin into the country because sanctions ? Besides the US sold him thos weapons.

Ok, so you're a rifleman in the Marines. I don't know if you served in Iraq, but any soldier who operated in Iraq and especially in Baghdad will know who Muqtada Al Sadr is, can you honestly say that him, and people like him won't try and take power like Saddam did ? And you really should check out the bombings throughout the 90's. Check out the "no fly zone Iraq" and you will see I'm not just making things up. See the soldiers who died throughout the 90s in these operations.

One question. These soldiers are depending on land warrior to much, what happens if it crashes and they can't use it? I doubt it would happen, but I hope it cancels out regular training.

They do not depend on land warrior, they are happy with its performance as it proves to be an effective asset on the battlefield. If the system fails in the field then they will most likely revert back to their regular training.

i'm curently working w/ this system & hav ben 4 almost a year really the sysytem n its current form is a problem its great 4 the higher ups who dont go out but thos who do go out r screwed its 2 heavy & goes down 2 often & now soldiers depend way 2 much on tech's 2 remember how to use a map & compas land nav is a parishable skill & soldiers cant effectivly read a map & terrain associate n/e more leaving them helpless when tech fails. only thing that you can rely on wit tech is it will fail

Your "parts list" is cute, but won't make you a Land Warrior system. I've actually handled one of these bad boys, back when I was in 2nd CR (before they rebadged to 4-2 ID). I wasn't a great soldier, and I don't want to add "treason" to my list of offenses, but I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that you're little toy doesn't come close to the capabilities of the Lan Warrior.

I'm IN 4-9inf, this shit is some real high speed gear, the only problem is that its very expensive and there isn't a whole lot of units out there that get their hands on it. and there is no way you would be able to make this in your garage with consumer products and have the same capabilities.

No, at 15, I'm not dreaming Spec Ops, I know I'm not nearly good enough for that. National Guard for me. Why? College money, so my parents can finally retire, but that's not the only reason, I just happen to want to serve my country as well, so it works out great. For example, let's suppose that you could equip 1000 soldiers and call 'em Land Warriors.
They could do the job of 100000 other less equiped men and could stop a conflict before it could awake, they could stop an offensive between 2 countries simply with 8 hours of mission, without the rivers of blood that the offensive would provoke. Isn't ridiculous, ridiculous was the word that the Italian High Command used in 1910 to describe the first camo scheme ever producted.

I guess some people don't understand how valuable this could be if improved. Most of you talk like everyone will be using their system at the same time, which is not the case. If they do have to use it, I'm pretty sure they'll be behind cover and whatnot. Even if the system went down they would revert to their training skills, like what Appclypse said.

we need to train them hard on actual ways to hunt people down. to actually id fof. tech is something that should be grasped by higher ranked, having a cmdr be able to tell troops what to do better, knowing all that. you dont really need a screen, you should just have skill.
imagine what we would do if we actually had everyone trained with just brutal skill...

This video is LoL alot of troops say the system makes them too slow, slow = dead. The army is remaking the system >_> puting HUD in eye contact leds few years off. Looking though the big eye patch thing, its just a large map, makes you less aware and slow. The Eye Leds Contact thing is cool, having HED pops in your eye with info, dont wanta overload the guy with info.

I should hope if we ever got that in the in the British military, that would be the case, the yanks do tend to cut corners however... It is amazing all the same, i just wonder really how effective it would be in say the jungle, rain, asymetric warfare, electrinic warfare etc. Seems like a good invention but a little late; seems conventional warefare is going out the window to a certain extent. Its all good in principle but I have to agree, the more complex something is the more likely it is going to go wrong- The ironic thing is that if one of those fell into the enemy hands, they could use it to gain information that the wouldn't usually be able to get through standard reconassaince!
