that was so cool, you guys really know how to dance! and what could be more romantic than dancing together in the kitchen? I love the music & your dance style. What do you call that type of dance? Thanks for posting that, it's great!
I love your style. I hope when my son and daughter are grown they are still dancing in the in the kitchen. We have been sending this video around to friends and they are crazy about it too. Make a fourth one!
Great dancing! But just a little rough at the very beginning. A piece of advice: at the beginning of the dance, grab your partner and perform a quick double-spin. It shows everyone that you know what you're doing, and also carves out a space for you on a crowded dance floor. Zydeco is just as much about attitude as it is about smooth moves. Keep groovin'!
I don't agree with your critique. First of all...they're not on a crowded dance floor. Instead of a double spin to clear out space, just keep the door closed so Fido doesn't wander in. I'm a proponent of "feeling out" at the beginning and building up to big moves...not intimidating other dancers with a double-spin at the start to keep them out of the way/off the floor. If that's you're idea of "attitude", I ain't with that.
It has nothing to do with "intimidation". When you and your partner are on a crowded dance floor, literally shoulder-to-shoulder with other dancers, you need to "carve out" your own space. Otherwise, you get bounced around like a pair of bumper cars. The way a man handles himself (and his partner) on the dance floor says a thing or two about him. And there's nothing wrong with a strong, solid start.
Excellent! Thanks so much..takes me back to when my ma and family would push the furnature against the wall & dance the day away. Good Energy!

Trust me on this. I'm a native of Louisiana, and I've been Zydecoing several times a week, nearly every week for the past twelve years.
