how big is your tank? i have a 37 gallon tank with a humphead glassfish, 2 red tailed sharks, 2 black skirt tetras, 9 red eye tetras, 3 large feeder fish, 2 platys, and 2 sword tails, i also have a very small bottom feeder that looks like a sting ray,( i forgot its name)
today i bought 1 clown loach, will my tank be ok for it?
@SecondWind2 Are they aggressive? My Tiger barbs are devils and eat off each other's fins and even flesh. I have one with a hole on one side and they all go to him for a snack. I got tired of separating the injured ones until they healed. If those aren't aggressive then I'll consider swotching to that kind of barbs and let go my Green/Albino and Tegular Tiger Barbs.
they are like "giv uZ teh FuDZ!" hehe i got two of them they own a shipwreck and come out only when its darker in the aquarium i should get 3 more so they have some company.
Please don't call me "retarded". The fish is "seven dollars", but that doesn't mean he doesn't have FEELINGS and THOUGHTS. He is a SENTIENT being.
I do not have problems. I'm aware of the world around me and not encased in moral hypocrisy. I said all of that because your comment was insolent. "This thing was a waste of money".
By the way, gallons doesn't matter, it's the footprint of the tank.
i just bought one of these for my african cichlid tank and the stupid thing wont come out from behind the plant. hes been there for 2 days now and only comes out if i hit the glass to force him out, and sometimes that doesnt even work. the only time i can feed him is if i turn off all the lights and drop a sinking food pellet. any tips??? this thing was a waste of money.
@brandonkr Clown loaches are best kept in groups of five or more and in a fairly big tank. They also need a hiding place with two openings like a bamboo tube. Once they feel safe they will come out and greet you. Your single loach must be pretty scared at the moment. If you don't plan to have more than one, then it's probably better when you find someone who has other loaches in his tank.

today i bought 1 clown loach, the lady at the pet store said it will be fine by itself, but maybe she just wanted to sell it, will my tank be ok for it?
@brandonkr If I could, I would reach through the internet and hit you. Research your fish before purchasing. Fish are not "things", they are living creatures with personalities. Your clown loach was scared, alone, and in a tank with more aggressive fish. Don't hit the glass to get him out, can you imagine how scared you would be if someone smashed your closet door in order to make you move for his entertainment? I'd be willing to bet your tank is smaller than 4 feet, too.
@adriennerothenberg hey retard its a 36 gallon. AND the fish is fine now. and by the way if you would hit someone over a 7 dollar fish, then you have some serious issues. and i did do research and i talked to very experienced fish store owners. the only reason i asked this question on here was because his store was closed. its because of people like you why there are so many arguments over youtube comments.
That sounds terrible. I'm sorry for your loaches. How about a better filter? I use a Hagen Fluval 305 external filter for my 55 gal. tank. Good luck with the babies!
yep! it really looks very crowded on this video, because they are all staying at the same place waiting for food. My tank is 4 foot 55 gallon / 210 liter with 5 clowns, 10 SAEs, 1 false siamensis and 5 pentazona barbs in it.
10 gal sounds very small even for one SAE. I had a tank like this when I started 20 years ago and only had 4 little goldfish in it. I read that minimum tank size for a pair of adult SAEs should be 25 gal. It should be a long tank because SAEs are very active swimmers. Maybe you can get a tank this size. Larger tanks also have greater stability in water quality and you will have more fun with your hobby. Good luck!
It'll grow up very fast, believe me. SAEs like to live in groups. A single one will not be too happy. The best would be at least a pair in a bigger tank.

how come your clown loaches have a redish black back mine are only orange
bverman123 2 years ago
Mine are only orange, too. It's probably the bad quality of the video, but I have a special tank lighting that makes reddish colours appear redder.
SecondWind2 2 years ago
cool tank kinda crowded but i shouldn't complain mines over crowded to the max.
