  • Purest epicness of the epic sounds of epics!

  • from which album is these song?...amazing by the way :D

  • @marieliciousful since it's rare, it probably was out on limited release in the early days of muse...

  • @marieliciousful I found it on The Supermassive Selection..

  • only just heard for the first time and I have been a muser for 9 years!

  • OMG BEAUTIFUL COVER!

    Love it!!!

  • There is never going to be a Muse song I don't like. EVER <3

  • I hate how freakin' short this song is !

  • Why does this remind me of Zelda 8 bit? :)

  • bestttttttttttttt !!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

  • Really lovely! I love the way Matt likes experimenting with older sounds aswell as new stuff! I think that Joe Meeks ideas of putting unusual noises on records influence him too.

  • Listen, grampa, just because you were born 50 million years before me doesn't mean jack shit, and it certainly doesn't mean you can make lame jokes about how long I've been playing, which by the way is longer than your play time by about 4 years. And you being a drummer for 500 years also doesn't mean jack shit because playing drums is piss easy. Finally, you starting to play guitar in your fourties means you are most likely less skilled than me, and your ears less sensitive.

  • sick of you dumb fucks arguing on the internet on who's right about the song. Just listen to the music and if you don't like it then you don't have to listen to it. After saying that I'd say that I do like it, it reminds me of riding on horses kinda like Knights of Cydonia.

  • very origin symtry dont u think?

  • @wfd199728 I LOVE that

  • CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @shadoogie61 How is this crap?

    It's EXACTLY like the original...

  • @eduardvictor If you think this is anything like the original then you need to get a new set of ears man.... It's just a poor cover. You obviously haven't listened to the original version..

  • @shadoogie61 I am pretty sure your antique ears are deceiving you, old man, I've been playing guitar since I was 3 years old, I know my music, trust me, grew up with it, it's in my blood, I can play any song i've ever heard.

And you know what differentiates "experts" like you and real musicians?

Real musicians make their OWN music, or make covers and add their own twist to them, like these guys.

"Experts" like you just copy other people's music like a xerox machine and settle with that.

  • @eduardvictor So you have been playing for at least 2 years then!! Not only did I grow up listening and playing Shadows tunes and have written many many songs, I have been playing guitar for 20 years and drums for 50 years and was a professional musician for 15 years. What exactly can you play/write... Why don't you let us see it?

  • @shadoogie61 drums for 50 years? what are you 70? using the internet? you are lying arent you

  • @KAmaKAsa1 listen wanker, I started drumming when I was 13 and now I am 63.. When I went to school that = 50 years so why don't you grow up a bit yourself

  • @shadoogie61Also, it's probably why these guys have 30 million views on their Uprising song, and won the Grammy award for their Resistance album, and sold out Wembley stadium, and Glastonbury 2010, and you are only "known" to your friends, family and Youtube.

  • @eduardvictor i like muse very much and i think theyre talented, but the success of a band is not compareable to their talent. music business doesn´t have much to do with the music being good or special i personally think resistance was their worst album, hopefully the new one will be better once they get it done

  • Respond to this video... I'm just saying, give credit where credit is due and don't dismiss young artists just because they don't fit your musical style or taste, that is just pure ignorance that I honestly would not expect from an old musician such as yourself.

  • @shadoogie61 It is a poor cover. But even the Shadows' original sounds like a drunken chimps' tea party compared to The Great Chet Atkins' version.

  • The fact that a 'modern' group has covered the shads makes me feel so young and my kids have now discovered the old man did have a life.

  • Makes me feel mysterious.

  • Very nice!!!

  • Chris's reflection reminds me of Michael McIntyre...

  • Well shit I thought the Shadows were completely long forgotten on modern musicians....neat!

  • Pwoper!

  • wow :o

    músicaa lindaa *-*

  • one of those very few covers that actually sounds better than the original. Fantastic job.

  • I love this. I just love it. I think the electronic fuzz and sounds in the background just add to the charm. How did I miss this one? Going on my playlist.

  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • well I love The Shad's and have done for years but I really like this version!

  • the very begining sounds lik baricudda

  • Love this! .)

  • Brilliant

  • İnteresting version of Shadows..Ehhh...Cem-Turkey

  • I love the Shads version, but Muse impressed me. It's good. It's very good.

  • this version doesn't compare to the shadows!

  • @DarkFlamage The shadows version is nothing compared to this. Their version sounds really basic while this version sounds more full and fleshed out. The sound quality is better too, but that's expected when you have a song from 1960 compared to something much more recent.

  • @DarKnightofCydonia Thanks for your reply. Possibly b/c I'm an old man, I prefer the Shadows version. Anyhow that's my opinion, but regardless, you do have a creative username that, as an added bonus, contains the word "Dark", so it's all good!!!!!...Thumbs up

  • People don't like to see other people happy. We have found musical bliss throughout our souls in Muse; while the haters listening to Lamb of God or Kings of Leon are so unhappy and don't understand why!?! Fill your ears with garbage and it'll come right back out your mouth. When you fill your ears with beauty...

  • I. Like. This. Great cover!

  • Nice THE SHADOWS cover

  • This is the greatest like to dislike ratio I have ever seen. If only that one druken slob hadn't missed the like button by accident!

  • It got a Knights Of Cydonia sound to It :)

  • @greenmusedayvideos Yeah...this is the kind of surf and texmex music that inspired KoC a lot. In the same range as George Bellamy's Telstar.

  • @greenmusedayvideos that's exactly what I thought!

  • Good cover!

  • They kept it together reasonably well until 1.08, but couldn't quite match Hank Marvin's marvel. As my driving instructor so eloquently put it: "more practise is definitely needed".

  • Just wanna say that its not a rare track, it was on a CD in NME.

  • awesome music

  • @ObsessiveDreams if thats directed at my comment........I was just agreeing with some other dude, not really bashing. =]

  • @ObsessiveDreams trust me, you did.. its fucking annoying when that happens isnt it

  • @ObsessiveDreams Well, your comment is now on the tops and it also is about those things.

I think there's no point in complaining about youtube comments, people won't listen to it anyway... Just ignore them.

Same things with youtube jokes. Comments like " [Number of Dislikes] are [insert]" are everywhere, no one seems to understand that it is not funny anymore. Now I just ignore them...

  • @TheRobot13 ignorance is not bliss. If you have an opinion that you feel you must share, you should share it. If you have a gay joke that's been repeated time after time after time, and you just stole it and wrote it so you could have a couple of green thumbs up, than don't fucking post it because that's just pathetic. His comment is rated high because he said something everyone agrees with. The repetitive joke comments are rated high by 8 year olds who don't know what funny is yet.

  • @ObsessiveDreams I get it. FUCK JUSTIN BIEBER AND TWILIGHT SUCKS!

  • @ObsessiveDreams luckily, when listening to this wonderful b-sides u don't usually run into those comments, because i think only real muse fans listen to these. No vampires here.

  • @MeideC

    you sir, are epic

  • @MeideC exactly ;)

  • @MeideC Real muse fans listen all of their music.

But, you're right, this one is great !!!

  • Got my thumbs up mate!

  • @ObsessiveDreams wow ... you just did the same thing you said others not to do ... you messed up my day T__T

  • @ObsessiveDreams so why isn't yours about this song

  • @EarlWalkinkle

Ummmm Can I have the whole list? I would very much like to know what I am missing out on.

  • @EarlWalkinkle O.W.N.E.D

  • the very beggining of the song reminds me knights of cydonia

  • @Cedillos95 their second albun is called origin of symetry

but there is no song song called origin of symetry

  • Where do you get these?

  • isnt there another name for this song?

  • You can find it on the muse cd Do we need this: B-sides

  • @EarlWalkinkle wait there's a muse song called Origin of Symmetry,or just the original 1 copy of the album?

  • Wow this is Awesome :D

  • fucking amazing! The Shadows and Muse...epic

  • Ahh, good to see one of my favorite new bands covering a truly classic band.

  • This made me jizz in my pants.

  • Love this

  • love it....no other words..just that... <3<3

  • i love it

  • Wow.. .i thought this was going to have vocals in this, not an instrumental. Awesome!

  • can you put the download link in?

  • @knickerloss

just download it directly from youtube

  • Where do you get these "rare" bsides?

kinda on a quest to get them all, but for now I'm limited to iTunes and got everything I wanted there ha ha

  • @seafoodgar

You're gona have to go P2P on that one. Either that or try and find every single muse has released this far. That's where you find them. That and japan and french releases of LPs.

  • Listen to Recess, the style of guitar in that song sounds more like the Tornadoes than it does in Knights of Cydonia! But yeah this song does sound like it too..

  • It's not just the guitar it's about!

  • Knights of Cydonia is a tribute to the tornadoes, Matt said it himself. This song is a cover, and uprising is original. ONLY Knights was influensed

  • thay played it live at wembley

  • i thought that =]

  • Are we sure this is Muse?

  • yes.

  • the guitar and matt's style are unique, this IS Muse *-*

  • YES

  • Well, it's a cover, so they can play it however they want to play it. Like with most things Muse does, I like it.

  • YARR! I will someday find all these rare muse tracks!

  • Ok people dont know-

George bellamy WAS IN THE TORNADOS.

  • obviously!!!!

    we all know George!!!

  • george ballamy was in tornadoes not hurricanes or shadown lol

  • tornaDOS : )

  • @jimpaxi lol ye ty

  • loo everyone listen...Knights of Cydonia was the only song that George and the Tornadoes influenced. thats it!!!

  • and uprising.... that was influanced by Telsttar by Tornados

  • pssh listen to Recess! same exact sound of the guitar

  • this song is awesome

  • Great song! I love Muse!!

  • i have those rare tapes :)

  • Lucky you! I want them as well. ):

  • Chris Wolstenholme (left) reflection looks like Micheal McIntyre

  • Ha, I see it

  • I know they've aready paid tribute to it, but considering Matt's father was in the band, I'd love to hear a Muse cover of Telstar

  • EXACTLY thats what I'm saying, but people keep correcting me and telling, "oh they did with Knights of Cydonia" but thats just similarities, I'm talking about a full cover, ya know

  • his dad was in the tornadoes not the shadows

  • George Bellamy was in the Tornados, not The Shadows...

  • <3

    :3

  • This song is sex.

  • nice

  • Good cover from Muse IMO. i've never heard this though.

  • hehe this is a great drunk tune xD jk

  • The shadows rock

  • They released it on a free CD on NME magazine prior to the Wembley gigs

  • Thank you soooo much for posting these awesome b-sides ::)

  • I wouldnt say this is rare... just to get more people to listen to it, right? Lol.

  • Can someone let me know if this is truly a Muse song? Because it seems like they just did a cover of this song, because I SWEAR THE GOD I've heard this melody before when I was a kid.

  • Read the OP.

  • /facepalm :( Thanks

  • Its was made by the shadows but recorded by muse whilst on tour - they recorded it the day they decided to play it - it was recorded on a laptop hence the poorer quality

  • Do you mean the sound quality or the quality of their rendition? The sound quality is perfect if you have the original NME CD or lossless rip - as good as any studio recording in fact. If you meant their performance is poor then I have to disagree, this is an excellent cover - a fun song played by a fun band in a space-rock tongue in cheek sort of way... props to Muse as always for their fabulous work.

  • nope kinda incorrect. it was recorded in the study but the finishing touches had to be done on a laptop due to them having to continue the tour. its not poor quality

  • Quality, aint overly high, it sounds fantastic when streamed through youtube, yes, however, when i play it on my music player, its not to the same standards as say, KOC. It might be me, might be my PC but there is a subtle hint of an almost .wav format coming across (onkly not that bad), and the size isnt too big for 1.54 seconds

  • did u get the song from youtube? or did u get it from the cd that was given out?

  • The CD came with a special edition of NME based around muse released on the week they did theyre wembley performance (16th 17th June 2007).

I was lucky enough to receive this issue as a thankyou from someone we gave a ticket to for the 17th June one and is to this day one of the only rare muse songs I have!!!

  • i know. as i bought it. but its still not rare. the tape that muse made before showbiz is rare. them songs are rare. Man of mystery is prity commen compaired tbh

  • those songs aren't rare silly!!! I have them all! :) lol

  • u didnt read the more info?

    its a cover

  • Fucking awesome! Go go MUSE!

  • the begninning sounds like "Barracuda"

  • this is by shadows isn´t it

  • anyone know where i can download almost all of these songs? =P

  • i think u replied to the wrong person lol

  • the only one there i don't have is jigsaw memory... anyone have it?? i really want it!!

  • Actually, it is rare, relative to people who aren't really muse fans. Think about it, most people who listen to muse aren't really big enough fans to know all the songs on all their albums, let alone know b-sides or covers... :P

  • Pfft I second that, now all the twilight fans are behind muse claiming themselves as 'fans'

  • True. :/

  • True. :/

  • I know it fukkin pisses me off.

  • Great upload and great cover. Thanks.

  • I have half the songs you listed, noob :P

  • actually , most have been on my channel for a while and the small rest named is on my pc ready for upload whenever I feel like it.

  • @tokosteef where did you get them?

  • @tokosteef Can you help me get them?

  • @tokosteef can you put the file on mega upload or summfing?

  • telstar, by the tornados (matts dad) sounds very much like KOC

  • definately not

  • yes, apparently that was the main influence for KOC...

  • Actually I think the main influence often quoted for KoC is Telstar by the Tornadoes - KoC was a sort of tribute to Matt's dad who was the rhythm guitarist in the band.

  • wow, this is awesome! matt should write a song like this :D

  • he did i think- Knights of cydonia
