ive noticed i prefer drummers that go with the band if the tempo alters slightly. some of the young guys just play as if they are in the studio with a click. thats not always best live.

TrendyJon -- To be fair bro, Jimmy DeGrasso(world famous "Metal" drummer) has tons of groove and feel on the metal stuff I have heard. Can't paint everyone with the same brush is all.

I'm HUGE jazz fan, and you're right Jimmy DeGrasso's playing is quite groovy for a metal guy ... his parts are always tasteful and fit the song perfectly.
