The airsoft gun itself is great, but the sight & laser with this particular model are a load of rubbish :-(

Ares figured this out pretty quickly and the other versions of the gun don't bother with them (& are cheaper, under £300 in the UK, although some importers sell it for almost £400??!!)

Hey guys i've been planning on buying one of these but i'm not sure if i should buy the black version or the dark earth version. because i've heard some bad comments about the red dot sight. but i like how there is a build in laser and the colour looks cool. i'm not sure if the dark earth colour looks cool to me but i like the longer barrel and that there are rails attached to the gun so i can put attachments on to it... urgh which one should i choose???

@justanotheryootuber you are either using a high cap and not winding the magazine enough or the magazine has lost spring tension. Try another mag and see if you still have the problem. It could also be that the hop-up feed nozzle isn't lining up correctly with your mag.

@justanotheryootuber Yea, I know. But all elitism assholeing aside, if your mag has a little winding wheel at the bottom (High Capacity) this is what you do:

1. open the little trapdoor and fill the mag with bb's.

2. close the trapdoor and spin the crap out of that winding wheel until you hear a distinctive click, you'll know when you get there.

3. always remember to keep winding the mag during shooting, not all the time but just to keep a steady flow of bb's.

Guns like the AUG and the Tavor integrate this design because it allows you to have a larger barrel in a smaller package. others don't like it because it isn't as ergonomically pleasing (in their opinion) to standard guns like the M4, MP5, and AK series weapons

I just got my tavor "de" in yesterday. Foundation out that the free mag and TM mags are hard to get in. The cheapo king arms plastic mags work perfectly though. This gun shoots awesome.like nothing else, great buy!!!

Its actually not a version 6 gearbox at all. It is ARES's own custom gearbox design. Most of the internal parts are replaceable with m4/m16 parts. There are a few things however that are unique to itself such as the spring guide and tappet plate.

Why would you want an AEG that shoots above 400 FPS that's a "GSG 5"? The GSG 5 is an MP5 basically. You honestly want an MP5 that shoots above 400 fps? For under 200? That's a stupid idea considering how the MP5 is a CQB gun and I doubt any CQB place will allow you to shoot above 400 FPS. Even outdoor fields usually have a maximum 400 FPS for AEGs excluding DMRs at some fields and a DMR MP5 is ridiculous for milsim and if you're not into milsim then it's probably not very effective practically.

Not at all. It uses a spring to fire the bullet, paintball uses compressed air. Most Airsoft guns are more realistic whilst paintball guns usually aren't modelled on existing weapons. Bearing in mind, there are a few that have like G36 bodys and M4 bodys wrapped around a paintball gun....
