You know I was looking on these scandi knives pretty long time, but I like more brusletto style with short blade and thick handle, but I don't like Brusletto sheath, I better chose second martini sheath!
Brusletto fiels good in my hand, maybe my hands too big, but I use it for wood carving, even for smaler details!
I don't know why but I love black scandi blades like on Roselli you show. Roselli mostly make knives with black blade, but they are not for my pocket :D
@dindobangeles You can order them on the internet from a number of vendors. Tip: also check my Roselli clip v=IsLMEqTvisg , these are in my opinion even nicer.
Thank you for the reply, but I was under the impression that the Rognald had a convex grind. I do not own any convex ground knives, but was thinking of purchasing one, hence I need the right equipment for sharpening. Anyways, thank for the videos (you sparked my interessest in Spyderco)!
The old-fashioned puukko reminds me of my favorite knife of my youth, my sadly, long lost, Hackman Erapuukko butterfly-style knife. After modding the handles to allow flipping, it was my constant companion.
I paid $15 in the 80s and now there's a guy selling one on ebay for $320. :(
The T508 Carbinox they use on the Carbinox Lynx is perfectly fine for the intended purpose. When I used it to make kindling and for light batoning, I was surprised at how well it actually held an edge, it was still very sharp but there were a couple spots where it had slightly rolled (expected of a softer steel) but they sharpened out real easily, for the money, very good IMO.
@Krepo11 Thanks for the insightful comments. Indeed the Carbinox is pretty ok.I don't baton myself, and for general use it is pretty convincing indeed.
You might also like my video about those wonderful Roselli blades, it's clip IsLMEqTvisg (just replace the last part of the address line, this is a workaround as I can't post links).
@MrDagon007 Yes I've been working my way through your reviews from the first ones up so I already saw your Roselli video, it actually inspired me to look into Rosellis more and the UHC steel. I added a UHC Hunter to my wishlist, I fell in love with the chunky handle. :)
The other Norwegian market-leader, Helle, makes competetively-priced knives with laminated blades, with a lifetime guarantee.

@TheWaggaBloke These are not full tang. Rather the knife sticks in the handle

Are these knives FULL TANG??? dose anybody Know
TheWaggaBloke 8 months ago
@TheWaggaBloke Scandinavian knives are typically NOT full tang. For normal outdoor cutting work, scandinavian knives are perfectly sturdy enough.

Finland is not a part off scandinavia.
Norway, Sweden and Denmark is Scandinavia

@fsolemdal Thanks for the correction - I didn't know that!

@fsolemdal
That is not entirely true.... It depends on how you define Scandinavia.
You can google it, i cant explain....

Great Review Mr. Dagon007! However it is so frustrating because these knives are not available in my country.

Gebruikt u voor het slijpen van de brusletto rognald een lederen strop? Zoja, waar in het Antwerpse zijn die te verkrijgen?
wigglos 1 year ago
@wigglos To be honest, I have barely used the Rognald (too many knives, hence only a few are used often)), hence I didn't need to sharpen it yet.
For most knives I use my sharpmaker, in the case of a scandi grind it is better to put it with the grind side on a sharpening stone.
