  • I wanted these two together SO BAD!!

  • England...singel country nr2.

  • This clip has definitely the most riveting scene of the film--2nd only to the reading of the W.H. Auden poem at the funeral--when Fiona finally confesses her love for Charles. Kristin Scott Thomas: what an actress! She didn't have W.H. Auden writing her lines, and yet what a tour de force performance...

  • i heart fifi from FWAAF ;)

  • Man I was chocked when I realized Kristin Scott Thomas was playing the "second girl"... If u dont want Fiona man I'll take her!

  • Is it raining - i hadn't noticed - probably because you're so wooden...Kristin is a fox .. Andie M is a boring looking bird with a poodle on her head

  • She seems like a really nice person.

  • Fiona any day , no contest ! one of the most gorgeous actresses..

  • she looks and acts like a stereotypical American

  • God, when she say's 'You Charlie', she looks so fragile and beautiful. KST was utterly perfect for this role. I love her.

  • @zakalwe101 A lot of people don't see that the right match is right in front of them..Instead they go for who they are attracted( MOST TIMES PHYSICALLY) to..

  • @apollo792 Very true. And we often think that there's something 'better' out there, when in reality the grass is rarely greener on the other side.

  • I'd bag the tiny red head

  • This clip missed the second part of the group at the doorway, where the old bearded guy was talking and making a toast about true love, and you could see Fiona give Charles several quick glances, making it clear she was thinking about him.

  • Whose is the first wedding to take place in Four Weddings and a Funeral?

  • Andie Macdowell's character was SO annoying and boring. She was just a pretty face. He should have chosen Fiona, the idiot.

  • This is the best friend girlfriend of Charlie, Fiona. Duck Face cries too much and has a mean right hook

  • Yea, this should have been the real love story of the film, what a shame. Still, great acting and a great scene where she tells him . . .

  • he shouldve went to spec savers - Fifi was well hotter , with a great personality too :)

  • "Who can tell where the heart leads? All we ask is a little understanding." --"Cabaret"

    Mo Rage

    the blog

  • There's nothing worse than unrequited love. Trust me. I know.

  • Charlie is blind. MacDowell over Kristin. Being in love makes people blind, stupid en sad.

  • @IrisDeWell Well said. Love is a psychological disease - it completely warps your mind!

  • Wonderful choices made here. The only one missing is Fiona's reaction after Charlie dumps Duckface at the altar.

  • I think originally Henrietta was to be called Fuckface but there was a change of heart.

  • i really like kristin. she's a wonderful, very seasoned actrice. she does all these little gestures or she says her lines in such a powerful way, it's like she puts her own stamp on all of her work. if i were a screenwriter, she is one of a few actrices i would die to work with.

  • Bah.. never fret. They were a couple in Bitter Moon anyway... xD

  • Bah.. never fret. They were a couple in Bitter Moon anyway... xD

  • 2:23 She is SOOOOO beautiful here!

  • Four weddings and a funeral is just like pretty in pink; they choose the worng person in the end- Andie should've picked duckie and charlie should've picked fiona

  • @Loopyloualways Bah... never fret. They were a couple in Bitter Moon anyway... Grant and Thomas, that is.

  • How is duckface?

    Ahahahaha....

    LOL

  • @Calucifer13 Haha. Duckface married some guy in uniform. Honestly though I found her character interesting as well, irritating but in a fascinating way.

  • Kristin Scott Thomas is a fascinating actress. She puts up a very cool facade in this film, yet she has all these wonderful mannerisms and tics that indicate otherwise. Hugh's character was a fool!

  • they never really tell you what he does do they ...

    weird :S

I always wanted fiona and charlie

  • um....what does charles make for a living, huh?

  • Can you imagine Kristin being in love with you ! what a heaven sent dream!!

  • fiona loves you!

    fiona calls me duckface!

    wellllll... ive never heard that!

    hauahauahua

  • You love Charlie,Fiona.. :)

    I love Hugh Grant :)

You are both my favourite english actors :)

  • it should've been them two in the end. i could not STAND carrie.

  • Why couldn't you stand Carrie?

  • Should have married her Charlie.

  • "hows duckface?"

"good form actually, not to bad."

  • not to MAD!! ;)

  • @souljasquid

I think that what he meant to say - but instead he says "not too mad" :)

  • j'adore kristin divine actrice

  • I love this movie, even though not one of the characters in this movie has anything in common with my life. The humor and storytelling is just wonderful and great actors. Haven't seen it in quite a while. I was hoping to find it here, but it has been deleted unfortunately. One of the movies on my to-buy-list.

  • Funniest movie I've ever seen, expecially the scene of Veronica.....

    - Charles was vile. He insisted in cracking jokes while i was ill.

    - So you're that Veronica!

    -Which Veronica? Charlie?

    - When Charles and I were going out, he told me of this ingesting journey with vomiting Veronica, right?

  • If anyone has this movie pls upload ! i love it. It's been ages since i saw it xd

  • i love this movie

  • Why would you choose that American woman over Kristin Scott Thomas? I just don't understand...:P

    'How's Duckface?' haaha

  • Yes, inexplicable

  • "Friends isn't bad, you know, friends is quite something"... heartbreaking

  • KsT loves him.. lucky lucky man!!

  • Hugh Grant has been playing exactly the same part for his entire career !

  • True say. :)

  • No, he plays two parts. One is the sweet romantic guy, and the other is the narcissistic asshole. The thing is, he does both incredibly well, and he's a joy to watch. So I hope he keeps on making movies.

  • Sometimes he plays them both in one movie, as one character, à la Bridget Jones.

  • I'd love to see the whole movie - anyone? ! (;-}

  • i love that bit where she says something like im already in love, and he asks who, and she says its you charles.

any one know the correct wording ?? xxxx

  • No need really

    The deed is done

I've been in love with the same bloke for ages

(Hugh Grant) Have you! Who's that?

    You Charlie

  • Oh that's so sweet the way she lets him go

"Fall in love with someone who fancies me for a change" so nice.

I guess a lot of us has to do that.

  • DUCK FACE!!! whenever i see that actress, i always call her duck face. i just don't know her name...i know, really bad of me, i should really imdb her. kristen scott thomas rocks my world

  • Fiona is my favourite

  • When I look at this video, I'm just glad I'm not there. Bunch of pompous fop Limeys.

  • @avidalocan: Better than drinking watery lager with a bunch of abbo shaggers in a shit hole called Clifford,s Knob.

  • Kristin is so beautiful.

  • "It wouldn't do at all, now would it?" Beautiful language.

  • Very sad he didn't go for Fiona instead of that terrible wooden actress

  • I completely agree. That character was SO badly written and annoying. That wishy washy girl who goes from not caring about him one way or the other to arbitrarily standing at his door in the rain nearly ruined this film for me but the british roles saved it. :)

  • totally agree! i love this movie, but it'll always leave me disappointed b/c he didn't choose fiona.

  • Ya, so will I !!

  • Some people do speak like that in reality - so it aint unrealistic is it you plonker! Perhaps they should all speak in Ghetto style patois and it might be more "realistic" then .....

  • that is the most fantastic smoking cigarette scene in the last years. what heartbreak.

  • Hey,i like this movie!!!so british

  • What a fool Charlie was. Women like Andie MacDowell's character are a dime a dozen, but Kristin Scott Thomas...unique!

  • andie mac dowell was a terrible acress, pretty good model

Scott Thomas, there is a lady I would marry any day

  • you're so right! that's exactly what i think, too. :) i really wanted it to be fiona.

  • Kristin Scott Thomas was clearly the most attractive woman in this movie, but I suppose that's what made it so heartbreaking

  • I could see her as a portrayal of my favorite author Ayn Rand. She would make a wonderful Ayn Rand.

  • Denis Lehane is a better author than Ayn Rand.

  • Ive never heard of him. How is he better?

  • because he wrote what is almost the best american civilization manuscript

    with his latest

    almost

  • rand believes that self-made people are the only ones that matter

i am inclined to believe that it is civilization that elevates a person to achievement, not entrepreneurs who have an untouchable vision who share it with the rest of us

  • Hogwash! Civilization could care less. Why? Because people in modern society are envious of those who get ahead. They hate the idea of Joe Schmo getting that big promotion, nice house, fancy car, etc. whether or not he earned it. Most people would rather they had that raise themselves. If what you say were true, then the idea of people being down-and-out would be laughable, it wouldnt exist. People have to make something of themselves by their own effort, not wait for civilization to chime in!

  • barbarism does not give one long-term satisfaction

    to the achievement of others

which matters, solidarity, team-playing, the joys of victory are sweeter when its between friends in competition with one self and the demands of teams in organized spirit

civilization exists through the diligence of innovation which comes in teams, not in individuals

character traits are momentary, great ideas are forever and so are great teams

  • I have always been fond of Kristin Scott Thomas' style of acting, very talented lady.

  • I love this scene. kristen Scott Thomas is so good, you really feel her pain...Damn Andie MacDowell!

  • the emotional value of her movies as an object of fixation drags the viewer through tedium previously inexperienced

what a disgrace to good films

  • Kristin makes this film.

The funny thing for me is, the only time I ever met a female this classy, she was an American.

Are there British women that amazing?

Kristin's appeal is that Continental look and dress-sense.

  • Perhaps the mistake is not marrying Andie McDowell's character, but the fact that Andie McDowell plays that character. Imagine it had been Sandra Bullock or Liv Tyler. Then it would have been a real dilemma.

  • im happy i finally found people thinking the same, the movie is wonderful, but he chooses the wrong one, its obvious!!!

  • i disagree... he chooses the right one. you don't choose who you fall in love with, and he was obviously in love with carrie. so if he chose fiona (even though she is nicer and classier) he would have just been miserable. folow your heart.

  • I've never ever understood why Hugh chose Andie instead of Kristin! I mean Andie is gorgeous but Kristin is just so smart, classy, wonderful!!

  • you don't choose who you fall in love with! he would have just been stupid to choose kristen when he was obviously in love with andie (although she is smarter and classier). follow your heart.

  • KSThomas is beautiful !

  • hugh is sexier now lol

  • ANd the idiot chooses Andie MacDowell !!! lol boring!!

  • american women suc

this is coming from an american

    especially white american women

    obnoxious as hell

    or zero wit

  • hahaha. andie, back then, was probably like, why am i getting so much hate? lol. and we're like, because it was supposed to be fiona!

  • Comment removed

  • i wanted 'the one for Charlie' to be fiona. :(

  • She was

    the heart never lies

    marriage is a farce

unless it is for gay people

  • Fiona is too good for him anyway! I love Fiona and Kristin Scott Thomas! MARRY ME INSTEAD!

  • haha

    shes more french than english

  • really beautiful..........

  • If Charlie and Fiona were married, he'd knife her and she'd love to die that way. Four weddings, one funeral, and one socially conscionable murder. Huffffah!!!

  • She's so much better than the girl he actually ends up with.

I'm fed up of watching romantic films where at least one of the lovers is incredibly dull and uncharasmatic. The guy in Bridgette Jones in particular just stands and broods, showing no wit or humour or substance.

  • Agreed, she's the epitome of class. Wish I could meet someone even half as graceful as her.

  • OMG! colin firth in brigette jones is like the ultimate guy. the fact that he broods and stands makes his character more interesting than the typical lover. because he is grumpy and rude and seems to be incapable of feelings, the fact that he ends up really in love makes it more interesting than the typical movie i tink

  • Colin Firth does most of his acting with his eyes. His face is just naturally like that, lawl. I completely love the way he looks at his film ladies, Bridget in particular. Plus, in all the deleted scenes, Daniel was even more scummy, and Mark was totally epic. Someone at the top here obviously has never read or seen any other interpretation of Pride and Prejudice... otherwise they wouldn't be saying that.

  • Wow his voice change a lot, I guess here and there you can hear his voice from now, But really WOW!

  • He was so young then. He's a man now. xDDD

  • Why does Fiona keep picking ash or whatever out of her mouth whenever she smokes? Are those unfiltered cigs or something?

  • look how young hugh is?!

  • christin is better than andie macdowell

  • Christin Scott Thomas is a remarkable actress.. very beautiful too

  • shes a fine sculpture not just actress

    shes european arts persona

    an enchantress and cleopatra

  • Furthermore, people who talk as much as you do really have nothing to say.

  • I agree, but that is why i am not in this wedding party scene with snappy dialogue and witty repartee

of the best film in British History.

Instead I just type stuff on youtube and have people criticize

    my empty shallow judgments.

  • hahaha Hughs hair!

    ahhaha FLOPPY! :D

    I love himmmm hes sooooooooooooo

    CUTE!

  • so hows duck face

  • I'm sorry, but much as I love this film to bits, this scene always makes me angry: so angry that when I was a bit drunk a while back I kicked in a locked door at home. Charles has a beautiful, witty, intelligent woman, who knows him inside out say she's been in love with him for absolutely yonks and the damned cad can't bring himself to reciprocate? Disgraceful! It'd have saved him a lot of trouble if he had just thrown himself into her arms!

  • I completely agree taliesinseven

  • Glad you agree old fruit!

  • old fruit?!

  • old fruit is a very british expression of endearment among the social stratum featured in this movie, alongside other such terms as old boy, old chap, etc. just the sort of thing charles would say!

  • oh, I understand.. Sorry, I don't speak english very well *blush*

  • whose a tart

  • But if he doesn't have those kind of feelings for her, whatchagonnado?

  • i disagree. when he obviously doesn't love her, why would he reciprocate. good on him for being honest, because otherwise they would have both been unhappy, because he could never truly love her, having only friendly feelings toward her. you can't choose who you love.

  • did finola ever have a thing for charles

  • you charlie...

so brutal. I always love this scene.

  • mmmmm KST....I love her. So cute!!
