Cramming in 3rd tier Disney gimmicks in a first tier movie. You know Disney has this issue where they think all 2D is falling to the wayside. The only thing that's fallen away is the quality of the writers and the music for these pieces. Frog Princess was a good example of that as is this rubbish.

@Kavirako It was added on the Platinum version of the film. obviously the animation and the voices would seem different, and it wouldn't be on the OST (O standing for original).

As far as not fitting in itself, I think the music and lyrics were written rather well, and actually added more character development to Zazu, showing that he is more schedule and task oriented.

@benalmighty Given that the voice actors from the first film are much older now, obviously the voices would be different. That's also not my problem. Not only is this song a completely unnecessary piece in the film, but there is no way that this is a Zimmers piece, nor does it blend well with the rest of the soundtrack. Maybe it works in the stage production, but it is not to my taste in the film. Perhaps it adds more depth to Zazu's character, but it's completely unnecessary, in my opinion.

This song was originally supposed to appear in the movie, but only made it to the preliminary storyboard stage. For some unknown reason, it was cut from the movie before it was released. They ended up animating it and putting it in the special edition version. This song actually made it's debut in the Broadway show, where it was absolutely FANTASTIC. Just to clear some things up. :3

Let me clear some stuff up for all the comments showing how unknown this song appears to be. This is a song, originally cut from the movie, that instead made its first appearance in the Broadway version of TLK.

Disney has a tendency to add cut scenes to old movies for rereleases, and they did so with this song in 2002. This song was intended for the original cut of the film, but for whatever reason did not make it. However, it was popular in theatre (I loved it!), so they added it back in.

If you don't remember this song, it's cos it wasn't originally in the film. It was added in the 2004 rerelease and is awful. I can never find the film online without this song in it now and it's upsetting.

I like the way they intented it when it was released on VHS, and seeing that this song was intended to be in the movie I do think its cute. BUT, I also think it was good to put it in the musical on stage. I really don't agree with them changing what they had originally set in stone when the movie was 1st released. Cut scenes are cut for a reason. I do wish they would keep the originals original and add this as an extra did you know kind of thing. Its cute yes, but lets keep it as it was produced

I wouldn't have minded the change (I definitely liked it in the musical), but Disney has a nasty habit of having the extra scenes done in their current style instead of the original, so Human Again and Morning Report stick out like sore thumbs. The early 90s had a more simplistic design for character movements, so while Simba's actions look nice and are in character, they don't fit with the rest of the movie.
