  • I didn't know about him until the special on tvo. It is really good. His story and repeating the same theme music really got it stuck in my head and it just makes me want to hear more.

  • @joshig1983 do u know what its called?

  • @hnaht321 The Prayerful Hymn seems to be the name based on the youtube video title and the text at the beginning of the video.

  • @joshig1983 from what i can gather, The Peaceful Hymn is a part of the song name

  • I'd like to thank As It Happens for introducing me to this song. I was working on some stuff late last night, this started and I just stopped. I stopped and sat down and just listened. Its been a long time since a song made me do that.

    Happy Holidays everyone.

  • my friend's knew him. one of them is on his new cd. listen to the last track for the illian pipes. they and the whole canadian music community were really torn up about it. it's a real tragedy

  • i never got to meet him but i've sung this hymn in a huge choir with fiddlers and a couple other instruments and it is a truly beautiful piece. something in the melody makes me want to cry no matter how many times i listen to it or sing it

    rest in peace oliver schroer

  • still crying.

  • Oliver is playing to the angels now. I am so grateful to have known him, however briefly, as an instructor at Sunshine Coast Fiddle Camp. This lovely man was a true original who leaves many with fond memories.
