This movie is great. A lot of people think it's dumb because they don't get what really happened. A bunch of kids who came out of college come together to beat the soviet union, the best hockey team in the world.

In this film, Lou Nanne is depicted as being skeptical and it seems he's not a big fan of Brooks being hired as Olympic coach. Real life was the exact opposite -- Nanne and Brooks played together for the US in the 1968 Olympics in Grenoble, and they were good friends from then on. Along with Walter Bush, he very much wanted Brooks to be the 1980 Olympic coach.

i'm canadian but i must say USA hockey is getting better they looked good in the olympics this past year but just couldnt quite meet up to getting the gold over canada good job though , they beat us the first game , but we got the game that counted

it took me forever to find this movie a great story really... my great grandfather was on team USA and he was a really great goal tender at the time and the guy they used to play as him in this movie is almost a direct match to him

@35Kain What years did he play? Lake Placid 1932, perhaps? Not being a smart-ass, just curious. I love Hockey very much. I watched the 1980 USA team's games on TV when I was 14. Any footage from the Miracle on Ice always gives me goosebumps, always will. When Eruzione scored at 10:00 of the 3rd period, our house went nuts!
