The funny part is that the Mazdaspeed is probably modded to the max(that the engine could take, zoom zoom boom) while the X has an exhaust only probably.

EVOs and STIs when stock are NOT fast from a roll. AWD has the highest parasitic loss out of all the drivetrain configurations, while FWD is the most efficient. Compare the TRAP speed in the 1/4 mile with these two vehicles.
That EVO is probably dynoing 260AWHP while the Mazda isn't far behind but it weighs less.
@ApexIXMR you shouldnt talk if youve never been in a mazdaspeed 3. its a quick car and yes stock vs stock the evo has it beat but you also have to realize that the evo is about 10,000$ more and it takes a turbo back exhaust and an intake, (about $1,000) to make the speed3 faster. and yes of course the evo has more potential in the longer run. if you want to make it a track car. but you cant hate on the mazda just because it 23k brand new and can keep up with your car. IT makes sense tho.. the speed3 is about 3100ibs and the evo x a good 3500-3600ibs... power to weight ratio.. and the speed3 is FWD wich means it dynos more to the wheels as opposed to an all wheel drive.

evo x are really slow stock however with basic mods it will track what the speed wont hit on a big turbo. and before they go saying im hating , i own a ms3.
Not very surprising from a roll since the Speed 3 is much lighter than the EVO and thus has a better whp and wtq to weight ratio. But from a start, it's a whole different story. And I didn't even mention the big difference in the handling dept.... Two great cars btw, but for the money I prefer my Speed 3.

im a ms3 owner...uberationale you're right...the evo is not meant for straight line racing...unfortunately street racing are only limited to straight line...too dangerous for corners...i've said this countless before...if you're driving by a speed 3...don't bother racing it from a roll...unless you're putting 350+whp and the speed 3 is stock.. If you have a speed 3 keep racing the faster cars cuz if you lose it's not a big deal, ur supposed to be smaller, cheaper and slower. MS3 FTW!!

And if just exhaust and intake is prime... i hope that you are joking. thats not tuned no engine management system, not even getting into building engine and upgrading turbo. and a sh*# load of potential for $40K i would expect a little more.
Regarding SRT4s they have to have some good work done to keep up with speed3s stock.

when i dynoed my car stock it put down 247WHP and 266TQ... i got the corksport testpipe and exhaust along with an intake and it put down 285WHP and 297TQ. I have the dyno sheets to proove it.
but was it a mustang dyno? They tend to read higher than they should. I have seen stock ms3s dyno at 230-235hp and I have more mods than you and I didn't dyno that high. Either way someones dyno is off. Mine was a dynojet btw.

That is the EvoX and it does have dual exhausts. It is slower because its rated at only 291BHP where my car puts down 285 to the wheels.
