  • i now feel my ears as i feel my stomach after a satisfying big meal and a nice dessert.

    :)

  • when does the music come in?

  • what??????????????????????

  • this is where it's at! absolutely incredible.

  • What does the title mean?

  • @PerditionFilmworks That means the beginning sound of the piano, composer said that the piano sounds "gugan-gugan", the drums sounds "da-pa-toton"...(^^;

  • @INGEN0423

    Thanks, I also heard it means 'OG' but I suppose that is false

  • @PerditionFilmworks

    I heard that it means original gangster too but i cant find any proof of that sort of thing

  • @PerditionFilmworks Mr. Yamashita, who is the pianist and composer of this tune wrote about that in his essay in Japanese. It's famous among Japanese jazz fan. (^-^)v

  • @PerditionFilmworks Yes, INGEN0423's explanation is correct.

    The title comes from an onomatopoeia of the written theme of this composition, which goes "Gu-gan, Gu-gan, Da-pa-to-ton, Gu-gan, Da-pa-to-ton". You can notice that each solo returns to the theme right after the drummer plays the answering phrase "Da-pa-to-ton". Therefore, other members have to listen to the drums very carefully!

  • Whoo amazing, Japanese Jazz is great.

  • Very good, very exciting! Thanks for posting this.

  • 70年代の日本は、政治社会も熱かったけど、ジャズソーンも本当に熱かったですよね。久々に楽しませていただきました。ありがとうございます!
