I have every oilers playoff game from 1980 all the way to 1992 when Chicago bounced them out. They were a fast, skilled scoring machine through 1986. In '87 they were old and got slow and still won two more cups with their poise and of course Wayne. Hats off to Pocklington's Oilers and what they did for the game. But they are NOT the dynasty that ESPN or Canada seems to think they are. Great post! I miss Alberta dearly.(lived in Viking for a few years) Met the Sutter family!

The Oilers were great alright- BUT they never won more than two in a row-
Montreal and the Islanders in the modern era won four in a row. The Islanders one-upped Montreal though by appearing in the finals five straight years. No team in any sport in the modern era has ever done that. Also the NY Islanders won 19 straight playoff series - NO TEAM in any sport ANY ERA has ever done that in the all time history of civilization!!

I have every oilers playoff game from 1980 all the way to 1992 when Chicago bounced them out. They were a fast, skilled scoring machine through 1986. In '87 they were old and got slow and still won two more cups with their poise and of course Wayne. Hats off to Pocklington's Oilers and what they did for the game. But they are NOT the dynasty that ESPN or Canada seems to think they are. Great post! I miss Alberta dearly.(lived in Viking for a few years) Met the Sutter family!

@xXTheRisingSunXx actually they won 84 and 85 and then 87 and 88 and 90. two in a row 2 times. oilers are most famous because they had gretz and they got 4 cups in their first 9 years in the nhl. islanders did it some decades after they joined and montreal because they were one of the first teams and the time they were a dynasty it was 4-12 teams. oilers made the playoffs 13 times in a row from there year one in the NHL so please learn something before you post

all you guys are forgetting that the oilers suck now, and until this year, the canadiens sucked too. they werent that bad, just not great either. all those years with gretzky and messier and coffey and fuhr, and all you n have to show for it is a handful of cup rings. montreal has 24 and they dont shove it in your faces.

Great Video!!!! Those Oiler Teams were Unbelievable. My first hockey game was at Madison Square Garden pitting the Rangers v. Oilers (Oilers were in their 1st year in the NHL).No one knew Gretzky or Messier but who knew that in front of us, these young Oilers would turn out to be Hockey Monsters!!!! If Pocklington was able to keep the team together, they would have won like 8 cups!! They were great!! Anderson,Fuhr,Kurri,Semenko,Huddy... the list can go on & on. By the way,Im a Rangers Fan!!
