nice photorealism...been looking at people using sketchup for these kind of effects. Who knew that sketchup is this powerful. Keep up the goodwork. Does anyone know if your can animate components in sketchup, something like a collection of components. IE...like max 3ds or other computer animation software. I know you can animate scenes, but I would also like to animate objects on paths.
wanana know more about sketch up and other good programs for sketchup on march 2009 we help and tutor people who need help in graphic engineering only free cantact me for more info
you have to have sketchup "Pro version" the export animations. And you do so by going to view -->animation-->Add scene. After you add several scenes, you can export the scences as a sequence... hence creating animations. You do that via File ----> export--> animations..
@Italiano100xcento You can do rendering animations for free by simply creating scenes/camera paths and then use any number of free rendering software.
If you look at my videos you can find a quick render i did of a subwoofer enclosure using this method. Used only the free version of SU and Kerkythea rendering software.
And that was when i didn't know anything about either program.
damn it, are there no unpaid or unlimited plugins? my search is realley getting annoying. i mean, turbosketch is great but it costs 99$! why?!?!?!?!?!? :( nice vid by the way!
turbosketch is a plugin for sketchup. on the site you will find some plugins that can be helpfull to add reflections and proper lighting to your sketchup model. sorry for not checking my email...
That station structure is gorgeous...used to live just up the road from there, in Bath, so know it quite well. Would be nice to see some of the brick structure & texture mapped on the walls. How do you find Maxwell interfaces with SU?
To be quite honest with you the Maxwell --> sketchup plugins is probably one of the most underdeveloped of all the available maxwell plugins. I believe rhino probably has one of the best maxwell plugin interface. All that being said. i generally export the individual files and do all my work in Maxwell Studio. Its just better for me that way
thanks.... actually i did in two days. a few hours on one day for the Train and a couple of extra hours for the Tunnel on the second day. probably a total of about 8-9 hours. The images were rendered in Maxwell render.
great! nice

Using a rendering plugin, like IDX Renditioner. It's not the only one, but it's the easiest to use. And free.
