  • Beyonce who??? SING IT MS GLADYS!! it's yours and you own it !

  • this song was origanally called midnight plane to houston and gladys knight ask the song writer if she could change the lyrics to midnight train to georgia because she was living in atlanta ga and train sounded better than plane

  • Real singing and real vocalization and alot of soul!!!!!!

  • One of the most perfect songs ever! what a feeling...

  • goinbacktifind Love this!

  • Is it recorded in mono or something? It only playes out on one side of my speakers and headset

  • There's so much beauty in the world. This music is so powerful, so moving-- what stops us from living our whole lives in response to it?

  • greatest song

  • An incredible talent!

  • real singing right here!

  • beautiful song timeless

  • When the muisic was music! Very good this definition! I'm a brazilian woman and this voices has been im my mind since I was a little girl! Simply wonderfull!

  • Gladys Knight is actually kinda pretty.

  • @theballer04 She is absolutely beautiful. Glad you noticed!

  • What a voice and that beautiful face. Queen Gladys. Thank you.

  • classic..love ya gladys..thanks

  • i want to get on this train i recon if i hurry i might just catch it

  • woww!!..i found... after days, the first song that received voice mailbox .....MUACC!!!

  • I remember when this song came out. She was awesome. They were not sitting then either...

  • When music was music. This is a classic example of how to deliver a song in a believable and sincere way. I fight back tears every time I hear it. If this was the only song this classy lady ever did she would still be a star. This is real SOUL boys and girls. All you bullshit hip hoppers and gangbangers take a look here and see what real talent and art is. I love you Gladys. Thank you for your great gift to music and this timeless priceless and purely beautiful song!

  • @peteberwick I thought you said headbangers but then I saw gangbangers. lol. they should take thugs off the streets

  • daaaamn

  • Watzch teh Pips humming!

  • Bought that single 31 dec 1973.

Played it over and over and over again.

In my opinon it is still one of the best popsongs ever....

  • I can only think of 2 women in this day and age who would even try that song sitting down. Gladys had a dfeep voice that carried. Fantasia Beyonce etc. wouldn't try this song. Maybe whitney b4 crack.

  • @MLKJRJR maybe Tina Turner

  • You want to get some of that good ol' 70's vibe in today's music, you should check out Daptone records. (Especially Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings)

  • Damn Gladys, you got it down woman, the voice of an angel. Damn I miss the 70's R&B..to bad it stayed in that decade. The crap they churn out now is tragic. There are only 2 worth listening to Anita Baker & Oleta Adams...The rest suck!

  • dude 99.9% of new music sucks

and the funny thing is most new artists list older artists as there inspiration for there sound and genre then they come out with bullshit

but your right gladys is insane and one of the best soul R&B singers of all time

  • Ain't that the damn sad truth! You can hardly listen more than once (if that) to most of the shit that passes for music these day, but if you played this song a million times it would still sound a powerfully soulful as it did the first time you heard it. That's cause Gladys and the Pips have talent oozing out of every pore, and you can't fake that no matter how much money and technology you have at your command.

  • Excelent!!

  • beautiful song! love this group!!

  • GOLD!!

  • her voice is like buttah

  • I agree she has the best voice ever, puts Beyonce to shame!

  • dleiny is on-target. timeless, gretat hook, her powerful vocal. best ever.

  • i love this song too!

  • whoever was in charge of keeping the Pips seated during this performace should have been fired.

  • i can only agree, mate. even though gladys is tearing the roof off the sucker - i'm off to find a clip with some of those signature moves...

  • @Mattytars haha, THAT is funny ;-))))

  • lol. thts funny.

  • I like how during the fade-out the tv sound (which they compressed the crap out of) disappears and you can hear how hard Gladys is rocking the room.

  • Glady,s and her pips had an unique sound. Always recognizable those voices, wonderfull

  • best female vocalist in the world

  • Is only the best

  • ageless/timeless this song will still be great in another 30 years time.they dont make singers or songs like this anymore do they?

  • I never tire of hearing this. Great voice, great song.

  • I love this song. Awesome!!!

  • Que bella se veia

  • Lastima ke para esos tiempos no apreciaban bien la belleza de la mujer d color.

    Esta cancion me encanta

    es d mis favoritas d Gladys =)

  • if i got on the midnight train,i'd probably go right to bed, lol!!!!!!

  • titwigler, I know what you mean I sat near her on a flight and I was ashamed at the thoughts I had about a woman my mother's age...but she is sexy!

  • shame on you,,,,,,let a auld guy like me dream

  • hahahah u are so funny(i think she is sexy also)

  • I'm going on the Midnight Train back to Georgia!!

  • esto era como el himno nacional en las discothecas de caracas, cuando la ponian todo el mundo se levantaba jajajaj, muy buena, cuando se hacia musica de calidad

  • I saw her in '74 or '75. She was great! Great show and the Pips were great. Also "I heard it through the Grapevine" is hers and she does the best version. She brings back such great memories for me. She is outstanding! Very passionate and soulful. Love her!

  • kuv you gladys...!!!

  • titwigler leave my girl alone...

  • soul your body !

    TECKMASSE

    "HOUSE IS IN THE AIR"

  • ide still tap that as to this day!

  • her soul expresses through her voice...amazing!

  • This is the first performance of their new song at the time "Midnight Train to Georgia".

Before it became a hit. Ummm, bet they had no idea, this would be their signature song for the rest of their lives.

  • What natural beutiful face. And what a Great song. I can't wait to see her in person. On

September 17, 2008. At the tachi Hotel and Casino, in Lemoore California.

  • How was the concert? did she do all those old soul songs?

  • BellisSOULmo!

  • best version of the song on youtube.

imo lauryn hill doesnt even come close to gladys knight, cant believe u put the 2 in the same sentence.

  • OMG!!she reminds of Lauryn Hill in this performance

  • Could it be that Lauryn Hill tried to imitate Gladys???

  • u knew wat i meant lol

  • Who is Lauryn Hill, sorry Gladys is the Empress of the Soul.

  • Everyone knows that! I jus was sayin that Lauryn looks like a young Gladys

  • I would just love to say she gets on my pip, but unfortunately she is far too good to be able to!

  • pips rule.

  • Man this lady gives me chills!!

    What an amazing singer!!
