  • The religious live a life of cowardice. Unable to face life's challenges without their imaginary friend there to OK their tyranny or blame them for their foibles. We dont want cowards in the mix of Human evolution. Normally this filth would be weeded out by natural selection but now it is allowed to breed and train more cowards. We need to stop this and carbon monoxide is the answer.

  • are there any people out there who believe in Thor, or Zues still. What year is this?

  • @helpmetony Thor.. Zeus.. HAHA nonsense! Ukko Ylijumala is the one and only! :P

  • @helpmetony

Actually there a some neo-facists that claim that they believe in all that nordic crap about Thor and Odin and stuff...

  • @NKA23 I'm sure you're right! There is also people who put aluminum foil on their television sets to block the aliens from seeing them too! Yeehawww!!!

  • @helpmetony

"The are two things that are infinite, the universe and the stupidity of men, but I am not quite sure about the universe."

    -Albert Einstein-

  • @NKA23

That deep emotional conviction of the presence of a superior reasoning power, which is revealed in the incomprehensible universe, forms my idea of God.

    Albert Einstein

  • @helpmetony

    "God doesn´t throw dices."

    -Albert Einstein-

(He was wrong on that as well.Google: quantum mechanics )

  • @NKA23 Who was wrong? God or Einstein?

  • @helpmetony

Well, Einstein, God was never wrong, because he never existed.

  • @NKA23 and you are very sure of that, aren't you? I suppose you would also have to prove that to be fact also, best of luck!

  • @helpmetony

Nope, I don´t have to prove that unicorns don´t exist either...everybody knows that they just exist in fairy tales and fantasy novels or movies.

    Same thing with God...

  • @NKA23 you are mistaken, there. Not everybody knows that God doesnt exist. you will still never be able to prove or know that. It is an opinion my friend. Remember, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. I could easily say that Aristotle never existed. How could you prove me wrong, really?

  • @helpmetony

Not on the spur of the moment, but I could...Aristotle left his teachings, we can analyse them and prove that they´re from one single person at least with a very high probability.

The Bible is NOT by one single author and even chapters of the bible were often written, rewritten, combined with texts of other sources, etc.

"The Word Of God" is just the word of men, many of them were quite uncivilized and uneducated from today´s point of view.

  • @NKA23 much better for credibility to have more than one source, dont you think? That is not a vaild point whatsoever. "Uncivilized and uneducated" from YOUR point of view, you mean. There are boat-loads of scholars that would strongly disagree with you there.

  • @helpmetony

The bible considers itself to be "the word of god", so it is supposed to be from ONE author, no matter how many people it took to write it down, but we can actually proof that it is almost impossible that only one mind created the bible*.

    But that isn´t the case.

Man, no bible-author had MY abilities in math or my knowledge of psychology or my knowledge of astrophysics...and I am not even an expert.

People from those ages had barely NO education compared to our modern standards.

  • @NKA23 it is NOT supposed to be one author. Have you ever talked with a bible scholar ? Your knowledge of this topic has become obvious to me. Thanks for taking the time to talk with me, and keep searching for all the answers to everything in this marvelous universe! I must move on. Peace be with you!

  • @helpmetony

Is God the "real" author of the bible?

Didn´t he somehow BEAMED the verses into his prophets´ heads?

Well, he didn´t...as he surely doesn´t exist, and IF he does, he´s NOT the God of the bible as the bible got so many things wrong, it can´t be inspired by an allmighty, allknowing deity.

  • *That´s because of it´s inconsistency and internal incoherence.

IF God inspired all of that crap by "beaming" it into the heads of his prophets, he must be some sort of loony.

  • does your parents know that you film them arguing and post it on youtube???

  • Your dad and mom and of COURSE you are all so clever. I think this matter is deeper than one might think. Religion stinks.

  • Burden shifting is quite popular with theists.

  • You're lucky that you grew up in a household with such intellectual people. My mother is pretty vocal. My father isn't. My mother says such brilliant things as "poinsettias turn red around Christmas because it's jesus' birthday", "hardwood floor is made of soft wood", and she seems to think that bugs come from water.

I often wonder if her IQ is somewhere around 85 or 90.

  • @autumnsylver

Well, my mum pretty much was the same...she virtually knew NOTHING about ANYTHING besides cooking and doing house work.

F.e. after the power plant at chernobyl blew up in 1986, she panically declared that now "everything is full of atom".

  • The burden of proof is on the shoulders of the claimant. And in this situation, the Theist is the claimant. Extrodinary ideas require extrodinary evidence.

  • This is such a sensitive topic (as i can see from the comments below)

but I'll say that I do not believe in your god. I believe in a sort of universal being which governs all of existence and the universe itself. A sort of all defining "thing" which allows our very existence; something so powerful and so complex, that it would allow us to question god, reality, and even itself. I believe that everything (life, reality, matter) are all connected to this being and we are all representations of it.

  • @biohazardousbacon

Man, that thing is called "the universe" but it isn´t really a deity.

  • I like your Dad already :)

  • Y'know what Atheism is nowadays? It's a new age fad for kiddies to feel important.

You do realise by constantly arguing against religion about your disbelief of god, you're becoming as bad as that what you supposedly hate. An extremist of a set of beliefs. Sounds kinda religious to me.

We'll never be able to disprove or prove "god", even the almighty logical science wont, get that through your heads, and just get over the fact that some people choose to believe in an unlogical higher being

  • Like any other relation of love, the relation to God is based on trust.

Once you require proof of your love, it is endangered.

If you somehow is able to base your love to God on faith, He will proove himself to you beyon any doubt you might have.

God has proven himself to me because that I (not from of my own doing but of His mercy). I have the proof that I need, but I can not give it to anyone else, except my affidavit. What can you possibly loose if you try to determin its authenticity?

  • @godhatesislam

    your name is very controversial

    =/

  • I believe in a god(dess) secure enough not to need people to believe in them.

  • Who is that God(dess)?

Are U sure u did not make He/She up just for making a point?

My point is that what ever I as person like to be true has nothing to do with it.

REALITY is that Jesus has proven himself to me and is exactly what he claims to be.

And anybody who is willing to listen to Him can have the same prof.

How strange it may seem to you: You are living in a dream world.

  • Your claims are false! It's all about the flying teapot! All hail the flying teapot and burn all the heretics who don't believe!

  • I believe in Jesus whom I know is a fact, since I have experienced his existence which makes him the Lord and ruler,

He promised to send his Spirit, and since I have experienced Him (the Spirit) I recognize Him as the Divine proof of Jesus being the Lord the same as the Father,

    Jesus is the Lord!!!

  • Holy shit! I just glimpsed into the madness that is Christian indoctrination. It is very cold and dark. And...and... there are no books besides the bible! *Screams in horror*

  • @DuykRuyk

I consider Christ the ultimate love, and He fills my heart with warmth and light, My relation to him has increased my love, tolerance and understanding to other people.

Sorry, no coldness nor darkness not even the slightest lust for burning heretics, not even hate speeches or mockering.

  • Did it just get colder...?

  • what?

  • I have a question what evidence suggests that God doesn't exist?

  • The burden of proof lies with whoever is making the assertion. That's how the system works...

You can't just say "I'm going to make a claim and if you can't disprove it, you must accept it as fact"

    That's retarded.

  • "What kind of God do you believe in?" is the right question. Like your Dad says, you can't prove the non-existence of anything. However, one might be able to show that the existence of a specific God would be inconsistent with other knowledge.

  • you have a similar accent to your mum

  • Your dad is like Dawkins

  • Your father reminds me of mine. He was very intelligent, we agreed on almost everything, BUT we argued (debated) all the time. lol

  • Someone can always define god in a way that I wouldn't be an atheist. If your mother believed god = Love I couldn't deny the existence of love. Atheists lack a belief in the common definitions of God.

  • Silly rant... There's a common fallacy in your discussion. You don't have to prove what doesn't exist, you gotta prove what you claim as an existent entity. How to prove that the FSM isn't the real god then?

  • What if God is everything? What if God is the Universe? What if the Universe is an extension of God? What if everything is a thought of God? You would not find him by travelling through the universe. You would find him everywhere you see. You would see him as the life and consciousness within every living being. That is the eastern perspective. There isn't just an Abrahamic concept of Divinity.

  • i wish my family would speak more often about this issue...

  • There's a conspicuous gap in knowledge in re the teen and early Twenties years of Jesus, making his biography a...bit.....difficult....to nail down....Top-drawer ballsiness tossing those gamblers from the temple though,eh?!

  • That when he went and hitchhiked around Europe. :)

  • I believe in a childishly vindictive God, one that likes to break his toys then laugh at them as they bleed out.

  • Did they know you were filming? You sneaky thing you! ;-)

Seriously though, good parents to have.

  • FactsvsReligion, having watched all the videos you have posted of your parents debating God and religion, I think you should count yourself quite fortunate to be a child of such thinkers. I don't see this kind of deep discussions between husband and wife normally. I can see where you get your skeptical wit.

  • It's nice to know that other families have that sort of discussion. Unfortunately, those heated debates are the nice discussions in my family...

  • to quote someone who you all probably know. "What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence" and "The lack of evidence is evidence of lacking" - Christopher Hitchens

  • "Well they're deluded." lol yes indeed they are, but so is anyone else under the religious blindfold or wearing their 'biblical glasses'. Sad that people still believe these fairy tales and their only defence is 'prove I'm wrong'. Well indeed I cannot prove your god does not exist, but neither can you prove that faeries or other gods don't exist. Same to be said for FSM

  • Do you want me to tell you the truth?? But be a brave brat, dont cry wolf!

  • OH GOD YOU CAN TAKE MY COMMENTS? oh poor you sick brat!

  • do you think I should be killed for insulting islam?

  • The idea that something exists because 'you can't prove it doesn't' is absurd.

He mentions other 'unproven non-existences' and the answer is 'that has nothing to do with me' even though it has everything to do with the subject at hand. This form of moving the goal post really has to be addressed, no matter how close you are to a person. In fact I am much more likely to deal with that kind of tactic with someone close.

  • Definitely not a dogma to disbelieve in god. Claiming there's no god is just as unfounded as claiming there is, but stating that you haven't seen reasonable evidence to believe in god is pretty darn sensible really... of course I'm a bit biased in that opinion.

  • theyve obvously been arguing with each other for a long time. i can see a patern of evasion on your mums part. i think your dad is trying to argue evidentialy but your mum is treating it very adversarilly. it takes two to tango though. i bet your mum often argues the complete opposite to the arguments she made the day before.

  • wow. you are totally right about my mom arguing the opposite side depending on how she is feeling. That's pretty good incite.

  • thank you, i love your video's i grew up in a big fammilly and we debated almost everything you could imagine. my mum and dad were reasonably well educated and our house was no stranger to phillosophical arguments like those you have posted. strangly it feels a bit like going home. my parents are no longer alive so i find watching yours arguing bizarly reasuring. (sory about my spelling)

  • i can't disprove the unicorns don't exist eather but guess what does that mean that you believe in unicorns like god

  • Your dad is right, your mom is wrong. Listen to your dad.

  • "Your dad is right, your mom is wrong. Listen to your dad. "

correction. I agree with your mom.

  • lol

  • lol cool family, strange that they hold such opposing views!

  • The concept of god or any gods, IS impossible.
