thanks for the informative video, but could you check on the composer of the music? You have Beethoven, but to me it sounds like Bach's unaccompanied cello.
Thanks for the advice ... But this video is about thumb ring .... No proper form. I coach all types of archery and yes I did have a surgery that limits my motion with this peticular bow.(I practice to hunt with least amount of "draw movement" as possible).. Thanks for comment
and: Other than that, did you know that kyudo uses a glove with the same indentation as an archery thumb ring. I do both styles (and a bit more)and I want to try the thumb ring once, so that's how I found your video. thnx for sharing
Why don't you use your shoulders? Is that part of the technique, or do you have a shoulder problem? (Just in case you didn't know: using shoulder muscles is way more efficient and uses less strength than when you use your arms, just raise your right elbow above your shoulder when pulling the string).
this technique is officially called the "Mongolian release" and most archers in Asia are using it......including Koreans
a note on the short draw: with Mongolian release the archer gains 2 inches just from the anatomy of the hand....but in this video the archer still shows an incorrect form in my opinion by dropping the elbow of the drawing hand and raising the wrist in compensation.......which makes it look rather odd in deed

do u have to use a thumb ring when using a turkish bow?
sk8hmd1121 2 years ago
no you don't, you can use a Mediterranean (three finger) pull as well, just switch the arrow to the left side as you normally would.

are u shooting off the wrong side of ur bow or it that how that bow is made to be shot
icedraqun 2 years ago
With the thumb draw on a horsebow the arrow is always placed on that side, in comparison to the Mediterranean draw, where it is placed on the left.
