Connecting online.. eh.. Think of it like this. Text does not present the emotions of a person very well. Mood, attitude, feeling, confidence are all key things in D/s and text either can't convey, or masks many of these things.
Also a favorite for me is punishment. I just can't punish a partner online. I need to see her cringe, I need to see those eyes to be sure she understands the punishment.
