Generally, I like the intent of the video, but due to the color of the script used, it's pretty difficult to read many times and after a while I quit bothering to read it at all and just watched the video. That is until I got tired of the repetition of the same photos used over an over. But as a firefighter, I do thank you for the sentiment
I disagree, we do look pretty awesome with our PPE's and SCBA's on. My only complaint is waking up with a smile on your face thinking "gonna sleep in today"...then your radio goes off. Lol, but at the end of the day that smile stays. Knowing you did your part and helped someone.
i dont know any of the firefighters that died in my department, i got into it when i was 6 when my father joined. i am a junior volunteer firefighter in New York. my sisters and my parents are all in the department. honestly, this brought tears to my eyes because all this is true that we risk our lives for others, and we dont always get a thankyou, but we all know that they are grateful, if they say it or not. thanks for making this, its amazing.
@MsRedwolf94 your welcome and yes it is hard and people dont appreciate it I spend 70% of time at my uncle's fire department,and they are wonderful pure hearted people,but sadly we get alot of fire fighter deaths,its hard,this past summer a young girl 21 years old died,she lost her footing going down a valley as the was rolling down it something pierced the side of her chest,she died before an ambulance got to her lying on the road with my uncle by her side, we used to get along really well :*(
@tiagandremo oh wow thats terrible! :( im sorry to hear that.. i never saw myself as a firefighter until i actually joined... if i could, i would help yall but i live to far away and i need training. plus i might be too young. :/

@MrJeroen086 depends what help,if you mean help fighting forest fires,urban fires,accidents etc. I doubt it, because you will need to train for 1 year and cover all the aspects which will probably be different to the training you had in netherlands,but help in training,rolling up hoses,filling trucks etc.you might be able to, and as all fire departments expect in lisbon are voluntary you dont need qualifications to get in, all you need is good health if you pass the health inspection your in.

Thank you, no matter where you are stationed around the world there is at least one fireman crying on the other side, for the lives lost in the line of duty.
its a job that requires passion and sacrifice.
God save and protect all those firemen/firewomen around the world who are in parel, and take all of those who have died trying to save lives.
