Thank you and Namaste, Sadie! I have been practicing power yoga for 16 months and this transition has been such a challenge-- could figure out why, as I have a lot of upper body strength! Just haven't been using it right...
I did the scooch of shame for about 10 years and after seeing this video just a few weeks ago, everything changed. I used to get this huge knot right over my shoulder muscle on the left side especially and sometimes my arms just get tired, I would just take a break from yoga for a few months. Over the years I did develop strength but having this tip has made a huge difference, because now I can do chaturanga after chaturanga after chaturanga without getting tired.
You just breathed new life into my Chaturanga! I was wondering what I Was doing wrong and beginning to think the "scooch of shame" was the proper way to do it! Thanks so much!

Can't wait to try this! Thank you.

This is helpful, thank you. What about the angle of the arms for students who have the knees down?

I usually do not have a problem with a chaturanga, although your explanation could allow us to acquire even more grace!

You know .. if you don't tuck your elbows into your ribs ... you can severely damage your shoulders.

Yeah, when I first started I didn't realize how little of my arm strength I was using. I'll need to do this more often.
