The reason bleach animation is boring most of the time is because they cant find a descent key animator (Sakuga) so it get imported to Korea. Afro samurai is only 5 episodes long and it has a movie which features amazing scenery and animation.

However, as far as humor, Dante still has his "cheesy one-liners" and banter that gives the show a little life every episode. In short, expect to be mildly entertained, but it's an anime you should watch if you like "slice of life" anime.

They were very serious and the mere fact that they were defeated in 3 major battles shows the strength of those african warriors. Look at the war between Italy and Ethiopia during WWI. They had more than enough manpower and willing peasants during there industrial stage. Im pretty sure they can round up a bunch of factory orphan teens and use them as cannon fodder.
There were other factors to consider, africans had very high morale and used sneak hit and run/night tactics reminiscent of the korean war.
