Vishnevskaya is my favorite opera singer! Her voice sounds everlastingly beatiful! , My favorite is her Marpha in ''Tsar's bride". Unfortunately, cannot find video of her performing in this opera.

The Russian translation sounds beautiful, the declamation poetic and heartfelt. Vishnevskaya's voice fits this song perfectly. That's interesting, since her dramatic timbre has nothing to do with the sweet voices that've sung this song with most success. Her deeply felt melancholy is almost touchable. As people are commenting so much in their own languages here, now my comment in Portuguese: Interpretação tão arrebatada e emotiva só podia vir mesmo da alma russa de Vishnevskaya!
