Roy Jones was injecting HGH for a long time... when it was discovered he lost his first fight.... coincidence? I'm not doubting his skill for one minute, he was a smart boxer but the fact that he has used an illegal drug in the sport makes me question how good he actually was.
well hes still agreat boxer to me its just i dont agree with him going in and out of retirement to salvage that one last win there is going to be someone who comes along that is better than him and id hate so see him adding unneccessary blemishes to his carrer but hes a smart man so hell do whats right to him
The fact that people say "he would have one in his prime" proves that he was only a physical fighter, and didn't have the mentality needed to continue. A great boxer can win no matter the circumstances, because if they lack the physical power and speed they make up for it with skill and knowledge, and most importantly heart.
so alis late career losses prove he was only a physical fighter without heart and skill 90% of fighters greats included r physical fighters what makes them good is their physical attributes
lisen why are all of u sayin jones wud beat calzaghe in his prime or calzaghe wud beat him in his prime, the fact is dat their prime has gone now and calzghe beat jones get over it. and blu3nose u think calzaghe wud beat him 10 years ago aswell? u dont no dat coz anything cud happen so shut ur mouth before i shut it for u and by da way i am a roy jones fan
roy was simply different in his prime. unbleivable speed, reflexes, timing, power, he destroyed every1 in his way, joe calaslappy wulda does his ut em against the ropes and flurry with barely landing, roy woulda killd him with the speed he had, roy through fullries lightning quick aginst the opes in his prime, seeing that joe got droppd by jones with a tiny uppercut...wow what jones coulda done with the power and speed he had back in his prime.
The first round of the Joe Calzaghe fight may very well be the last good round Roy Jones Jr. ever has in a boxing ring. For the second straight time fighting on U.S. soil, Calzaghe picked himself up from the canvas and defeated a future hall-of-famer. Saturday, Calzaghe dominated Jones Jr. at Madison Square Garden. He won by a score of 118-109 on all three scorecards.

Blar Blar Blar..... How many times have we read this crap? Calzaghe in his prime would have taken him out with one punch. And not humiliated him for so long in the fight. Calzaghe hands are shot now, after years of pounding so called world champions.. FACT
I'm not trying to bash Calzaghe, I've been a Joe Calzaghe fan long before most Americans ever heard of him. He is as talented and entertaining as almost any fighter I've seen. However, in his absolute prime Roy Jones had no equal --- there may have been some fighters before my time that I didn't see with my own eyes --- but none that I saw including Calzaghe.

You have your opinions & I have mine. But the fact of the matter is, Joe Calzaghe is far from his prime as was Roy Jones on the night. Joe Calzaghe beat him to a pulp & would have done the same 10 years ago if Roy Jones had not avoided him. Its a hard thing to watch your hero shattered and humiliated in the ring. But would Jones of been such a hero yours if he met Joe Calzaghe 10 years ago? NO is the simple answer because Joe Calzaghe would of knocked him out in one round.
those 5 dislikes are 5 of roy jones' opponents he knocked out.

Calzaghe is a hall of famer in his own right... but don't believe the youtube hype in Roy Jones jr.'s prime he would've beaten Calzaghe in 3 rounds.
