  • I feel sorry for everybody.Poor guy can not sing and poor people pay to listen to him.

  • No.

  • whos on tabla

  • Good attempt b Talat Aziz. This is song is so powerful that every singer wants to try it out!! I have done the same. Pls. check out pk ratan on youtube for my rendition. I admit that Khan Sahab Mehdi Hassan is and will remain a 'God' of gazals.. We singers can only pay tribute to him.

  • Ustaad Mehdi Hasan saahib se baraabari karne ki baat hi door, Talat Aziz ji to thik se sur me bhi nahin gaa rahe hain....beech beech me besure ho rahe hain....kahiin unhe zuqaam to nahi huwa hai ?

  • Fantastic rendering of a classic. Well done Aziz. Hyderabad is proud of you.

  • Sorry, Talat Aziz, you should not have attempted it. You are a good singer and should yourself realize this.

  • its sounds pretty messy...the tabla player is playing too much that doesnt fit the mood of the song =\

  • I fullly agree with the greatness of Mehand hasan Sab..no one can sing" ranijishi" like him

  • why to sing so tough ghazal when you do not posses the qualities of the orignal singer.....should try any simple song...ha...ha...ha..

  • 25 years of Talat Aziz? He needs 100 years of riyaz.

  • very nice but the voice is nooooooooo where near khan saab!

  • NISAR BAZMI saab composed this film song by keeping KHAN SAAB in mind so this composition was made for only KHAN SAAB MEHDI HASAN and many other singers have tried their LEVEL BEST but fail to reach upto the STANDARDZ which clearly shows the DIGNITY of its composer SIR NISAR BAZMI ans PAKISTANIES have ni grudge against oindia it is ur THINKING dont be jelous with PAKITANIES as muzic has no boundries JUST ENJOY MUZIC MR phyche 1954

  • good voice but cnt match Mehdi hassan sahab

  • Wah bohat Khoob .Magar no where near Mehdi Hasan .

  • Love his voice...

  • Variations are okay however, this tabla player needs to learn some discipline .

  • This is a terrible version of the ghazal ,it should not be displayed on You-Tube, its OK for small home gatherings and Talat Aziz friends.

  • Oh god, this is awful. Never liked Talat anyways...just a lot of style and no meat. He sings as if he's just skimming the surface as a bad surfer....and Tabla is atrocious

  • beautiful. plz. write potry to understand.

  • best song i ever heard

  • Talat has his own style of singing...he doesn't have to copy Mehdi hassan or anybody...and as far as this ghazal is concerned, he has done full justice to it. A very nice ghazal singing..

  • who ever uploaded this video has made a huge mistake.....because this is the shittest version of 'Ranjish hai Sahi'.....and the TABLA is just shokcing.... please take this video off youtube...and who ever is comparing him with Sir Mehdi Hassan doesn't know about Ghazals

  • He is more style than substance. If I was him, I would not try to touch any song Mehdi Hassan sang. MH is incomparable. The very best.

    Kolkata, India.

  • Hope mehdi hassan is not tortured emotionally by making him hear this !

  • I like this singer. I have met him in New Jersey and Gulam Ali both.

  • gr8 singing by talatji...hats off to talatji

  • dunno y guys have to b mean.song sounds great as well with talat aziz sahab.only in a different style

  • Kameel, It is quite obvious you have a great affinity for the English language. You are a first class buffoon- if you have difficulty in choosing the correct expressive words consult the dictionary.

Talat Aziz should stick to singing light ghazals, like what Pankaj udhas, and his sorts do for a living. This is not his expertise.

  • Beautiful singing and a "GREAT" tabla player!! :D

  • what a beautiful song!! love it!. we need more of of this maestro ghazal singer.

  • What a great singer!! Talat Aziz.. sings Ranjish hi sahe'.. and such a Handsome guy too!!

  • Is this a childish prank. Utter Blasphemy!

  • @ashfaque63 ,,no u dick! i merely pointing out he's great!

  • Talat was student of khan shaib. He was just remmembering his teacher

  • it is not easy song Talat Aziz is a good singer but this song is Mihdi Hasan khan songs I dont think if I enjoy this song from any body to sing it I only like it from Khan saheb Mihdi Hasan I think Talat should not sing this song because it is gonna bring him dowen

  • @joyaan... your are dead wrong!! Maestro Talat aziz is a fantastic singer too..and Yes he sings this particular song with just as heart warming as saab mehdi hassan..only talt sings it in his own mystical ways.. he is great singer..so please!! dont kncok him down ok,

  • @kameelmackle Hello my brother I am not saying Talat Aziz is not a good singer but he cant sing this song like Mihdi Hasan khan never compuer any one with Mihdi Hasan I mean Talat is good in his won songs this is not easy song no one would be abel to sing it like Mihdi hasan but I likt Talat very much he is a very good singer dont take me wrong please

  • @joyaan you r right.once rajkapoor requested to ahmed faraz to write a ghazals for his movies lie this one ranjihs hi sahi, ahmed faraz said to rajkapoor i may be able write for you, but whos gonna sing it in india(i.e mehdi hassan to pakistani hai)

  • A good attempt but no parallel to Mehdi Hassan.

  • While tribute to great singers like Mehdi Hassan is in order, we should not forget the late Nisar Bazmi who composed this unforgettable ghazal.

  • this is a tribute to Mehdi Hassan. there are so many singers in Pakistan they sung like ae watan payre watan of Ustad Amant Ali Khan, Talat Aziz is great Muslim singer in India.

  • the GOOD singers should not attempt to sing the songs of GREAT singers. bcz it will bring them down. like sonu nigam is good singer but when he sings the songs of great rafi, he sux. talat has its own style he should stay their.

  • Talat Aziz's frivolous rendition and nasal tone is a total turnoff. He should not even dare to attempt to sing the ghazals that are immortalized by great Legends like Mehdi Hasanji & Runa Lailaji. Talat A has been a much hyped artist for reasons other than Music/singing.

  • VERY NICE!!

  • Comment removed

  • This performance was okay. It goes to show the great difficulty of singing this song that even Talat Aziz couldn't sing it well. Although I must say, I enjoyed the tabla and flute.

  • Its good

  • Really not good as Mahndi Hasan ... need more practice for such beautiful Ghazal...

  • Agree totally, zeenat.

  • really poor performance.

Anuradhaji has given great justice to such a beutiful ghazal.

  • Today i have come to know that it was such a DIFFICULT composition of THE LEGEND NISAR BAZMI coz such a reputable singer like TALAT is not be able to sing this composition properly SO ONE SHOULD PRAISE NISAR BAZMI 03332604292

  • agreed its not a good performance...... its bad.... but if you want to really judge him listen to him in the ghazal he has sung of Momin which is posted recently from a live concert " Asar usko zara nahin hota" and then comment ....

  • no offence and no knower of nuances i am...but beautiful music

  • Tawba, Talat Aziz's listeners are extremely illiterate in the world of classical/ light classical music. A true artist would slap Talat Aziz all the way back to his home and make him do some 30 yrs of riyaz (practice) and still Talat would be a grade G performer. Only 50 year+ women and stupid men listen to this clown of a wannabe, I really wanted to headbutt a wall all the way through this excuse of a song. Sorry everyone, i need to go and lie under my bed and cry and vomit. Pray that I recover

  • It really was not that bad, Mehdi Hasan was just such a great artist that in comparison Talat looks bad but otherwise he sang well.

  • agreed... talat was mahdi hassan's student....it was not that his singing was flawed... it is just impossible to hear the experience behind his words... when Mehdi Hassan sings this ghazal, one can hear the experience in his voice. His voice in general is not suited for this song. Mehdi Hassan's low voice plays a key role..

  • Please dont say anything to an artist, may be u dont like it but bro others may

  • Too many flaws in singing...wonder why he is so popular!

  • @omkar30 you are 100% correct

  • this is a sad display

  • On a scale of 1-10, I very generously give 4 to Talat Aziz. Talat Aziz began his singing career from the UK, contesting with local singers in the Asian songs contest organised by BBC in 1980's. Mehdi Hasan is a legend and nobody will ever reach to his skills.

  • this is not even close to mehdi saab, who is in a league of his own!

    not bad effort though!

  • Talat aziz is one of the best gazal singers no doubt but here his performance realizes you wht a great singer Mehdi Hassan is. Talat is no way near Legend Mehdi Hassan. hats off to u Mehdi ji.

  • what the hell he is doing ? He has completely ruined the song. And Please don't call him a great artist. He is an artist alright, perhaps in painting.

  • Talat is a great artist, this is a ghazal form a concert played on demand, doe snot make him any less. Wnat signs of his greatness then listen to 'Zindagi jub bhi teri bazm mein' from the movie Umrao Jaan.

  • Talat Aziz Is A Great Artist But Goes Out Of Tune Various Times Through This Performance...The Music Is Amazing In This Performance Though...I Forgot The Tabla Players Name..He Is Amazing Though..True Ghazal Tabla Player...

  • Tabla player is Jeetu Shankar..heavily influened by Ustad Tari Khan.

  • aaphir no aafir most artist sing aaphir to aa fir

  • wah.. kya baat hay

  • talat azia is reading. while originaly this ghazal sung by mehdi hasan very good.

talat bhi plz sing dont read

  • really really bad....very bad....plz guys listen to mehdi hasan sahab....dis guy ruined it!!

  • goes be-sur at times.musicians r gud.

  • Talat Aziz sing song with Khan Sahib film Dhun I think Talat Play as hero that movie please if any one have that song. thanks

  • Ghalat Aziz is too overrated !!!

  • @badaustad ..hell NO!!..he is a great MUSLIM singer.. and some of you Hindus out there. dont like hearing him..bcz India dont have great singers as Pakistan!!

  • I totally agree with cummley's comment.Runa Laila's is undoubtedly the BEST>

  • one of the best ghazal singer and very

    beautifull voice ever

  • doesnt come anywhere near mehdi hassan sahib although i know talat sahib is very good singer but this ghazal by mehdi hassan sahib is like made for mehdi sahab.

  • no doubt

  • @najmussaqibkhan It is pathetic and murder of the Ghazal. I think he should not have even tried to imitate the maestro (Mehdi Hassan).

One sung by Asha Bhosale is far better than this.

  • That tabla sounds like a train continually changing tracks - and the depth is just absent as far as the singing is concerned. Ustad Mehdi Hassan Saheb is the best, and the voice will probably remain untouched for a long time.

  • @zad1262 ..yes i agree,, but Talaz saab.. sings this song in his own unique way..but beautiful too!

  • @zad1262 That's Indian ghazal singers vs Pakistani Ghazal singers for you. Apart from Jagjit Singh (who's Punjabi anyway) none of Indian Ghazal singers bring depth when singing ghazal - and Pankaj Udas is a classic example. They should label their songs as non filmy soft songs :)

  • @ryhan1401 : I pity your ignorance. Ustad Mehdi Hasan was born and brought up in Hindustan, he got his "taleem" here, and then went to Pakistan in his 20's. All the Indian blood in him makes him the maestro that he is. And Jagjit singh ji was born in Rajasthan, which is the land of numerous classical singers.

I never wanted to comment or compare singer/shayars like this, but your foolish comment has instigated me.

  • @pareekdeep - why don't you just say every thing in pakistan, bangladesh, srilanka belongs to india .. to you if an 'indian' artiste does well, he's indian ... if a pakistani artist does well, credit still goes to india, because he or his father was born in india? i've heard this logic many times, so doesn't really prove anything .. now you will say reshma, noor jehan, runa laila also belong to india . too bad Nusrat's family migrated from afghanistan, otherwise u'd have claimed him too.

  • @RYHAN, You seem to forget Hariharan who basically is a south Indian and still understand the nuances of ghazals and URDU pronunciation. Let any one from PAK sing in marathi or Kannada, I respect Ghulam Ali and Mehdi hasssan for their contribtion to the art, but ppl like you have typically pakistani mindset always being cynical of Indian contribution to the art as well. and no one can deny that Pakistani music has Hindustani Roots. Do you call Raag Maalkauns or Yaman by any other name in PAK

  • @abhisinkar11 - you haven't proved anything here in your defence to counter my argument. I don't debate with fools. Sorry.

  • @ryhan1401

the reply stinks of anti-india sentiments.

Let me be a fool and you go your way stinking with a pig

    thanks

  • @abhisinkar11

Pakistanis have the greatest grudge against India and they are such soul less and artless buffoons! Their only claim to fame is destroying everything which has a musical root ad call music 'Anti islamic'

No point arguing about either raags or taals with them they have bastardised the name of yaman to 'Aimaan' ! Majority wont recognise classical music if it fell on them! They have NO idea that other forms of calssical music exist like Dhrupad and Dhamaar and carnatic styles!

  • @ryhan1401

I honestly do believe that the late (Rafi saab)..when he said ..(''music is the food of love" no matter who sings a song! they are ALL!! lovely and Talented singers in their own rights!!. I love all music..so play on ...

  • @zad1262 Talat Aziz is simply pain

  • imran k as you said, he is not original

    But he sings very good,

  • Talat ... you are not so original... this Ghazal sang almost an origianl tune format. As originally sang by Menhdi Hassan in very beautifully. You even copy the flute version of Ghazal identitcal. Invent your own style and tune

  • Imitation is the best form of flattery. Give Talat credit as I think he has done a pretty good job, though maybe not as good as sung by Khan sahab himself. But a popular ghazal like this one gets into people's soul, so I would say Talat or anyone else who sings this ghazal are only paying tribute to Mehdi Hassan.

  • That was an agreement with talktoanils

  • Listen to Runa Laila's version - it is said ONLY RUNA LAILA HAS immortalised this song!!! SHE OWNS THIS SONG!!!!!

  • No Mehdi Hasssan Sahib does!

  • It isnt about ur opinion or mine - the music critics of the sub continent agree that Mehdi saabs and Runas are the best male and female rendition of this song!!!

  • Ustad Mehdi Hassan originally sung this great Ghazal for

    Pakistani Film: Mohabbat

    Released on:June 2nd, 1972

Actors: Zeba, Mohammad Ali, Sabiha Khanum, Santosh, Andleeb, Rangeela, Saiqa, Roshan, Saqi, Qavi, Sahira, Niggo, Chham Chham, Pervez Sajjad, Ghayyur Akhtar and Begum Khurshid Mirza (Renuka Devi)

    Producer: Azra Jabeen

    Director: S. Suleman

    Music: Nisar Bazmi

    Lyrics: Ahmad Faraz, ...

Singers: Madam Noor Jehan, Runa Laila, Tahira Syed, Mehdi Hassan, Ahmad Rushdi

  • He did good. But the main like "Ranjish hi sahi" is being sung from his nose...

  • nice but not like mehdi hassan sab.

  • who is the tabla player?

  • Jeetu Shankar

  • Aweful... :( not well rendered-I agree with yugalj- Talat sounds aweful ... IMHO only Hassan saheb and Runa laila have done justice to this ghazal...

  • You are hundred percent right!!!!! Even the music critics all agree that Mehdi saab and Runa laila have done the best male and female version although many have sung this song including the gr8 Asha bhosle - out of Mehdi Hassans version and Runa laila's version most consider runa's to be better - It is said by the music critics of the subcontinent that Runa Laila's voice has immortalised this gr8 song.

  • it is ulmost funny to hear especially "sahi"after great mehdi hassan ji.Well he is brave enough to atleast try it.Once u hear mehdi hassan ji all others are like a kid trying to imitate his dad.

  • He was taught by Mehdi Hassan, hence he reson for him trying to sing this ghazal.

  • Does anyone know what has happened to this great singer. I have not heard of him lately?

  • same question from me?

  • the reasoning behind claimin that he so terrible is so immature, illogical n irrational...he never claimed that he's as good as ustadji, he just singin frm his heart a beautiful song that he prolly loves & a song sung by someone he prolly loves & respects too just like all of us...respect his devotion n the fact that he tried..thas what true artists or musiclovers do...i dunno if u two are either of those..

  • this shows when a good singer tries to sing what a maestro and God of ghazal has sung, the good becomes aweful ...

  • I totally agree with (Yugalj)I think he is a good singer. but he is trying to sing what a maestro and god of ghazal has sung, which makes him sound terrible.!!!

  • Absolutely magical harmonium playing by the accompanist, Pradeep Pundit!!!

  • Nice performance. Very enjoyable. When was this done ?
