yeah i took care of one that the mother got hit by a ass hole of a teen ager and a month ago rescued and hatched a baby killdeer

The parents took it back willingly. I have handled three killdeer chicks in my life now, and they always take their chicks back. As long as the parents can see their chick they won't leave.

i always enjoy that broken wing decoy reaction from the adults. they think they are so smart!
