just been reviewing the comments- and am a little confused - how is this a good tutorial when so much of the action is out of shot or hidden behind hands. NOT at all helpful to me. but the cake is really pretty
Thank you sooo much for all your help. Im a self taught... cake designer for 2 years or so. and im still learning a ton of things. This is so exciting and I cant wait to do this! youre my hero!!
Thanks so much for this video tutorial Michelle. I have started a small at home cake business inspired by my Mum who decorated when I was a girl. I always love to learn new things. Your website is so fantastic. One question...when you 'wet brush' your shimmer, do you use rose alcohol mixed with the shimmer & just brush?
Thank you Michelle, for sharing this video. I am a cake decorator in Canada. would you perhaps share with me what type of butter-cream you use and how you get it to be so smooth? I usually use Italian Meringue and it doesn't look as nice as you cakes do.

Hi Jeanette, I do not use buttercream on my cakes - they have chocolate ganache underneath rolled fondant.
Hi Michelle! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this two part video. I can't wait to try it now. I've always been so intimidated, but with your instruction, I think I can do it -- not as good as yours, but enough to impress my family and friends. Again, thank you. Denise
@raphaellebakes Hi Michelle.. Can you inform me where can i get THE HEAT LIGHT please?? I'm live in SYD.. thanks and blessings,
Hi Raphaellebakes, all I use is an upright reading lamp that has a flexible neck so I can bend the light down fairly close (not too close) to the flower or figurine I am trying to dry in a hurry. It also a big help when you are trying to dry things in the high humidity we have in summer.
@InspiredByMichelle thanks for you reply.. it's really answers my question.. I'm so confuse.. when i make some figures.. it takes ages to dry.. :( ... Please don't mind if i still have a question about it.. so do u mean that i just change the normal bulb with the heat bulb?? .. thanks once again.. bless you always..

No just keep the normal bulb it's amazing how much heat they give off.
Stunning! Very informative too! I cannot wait to try your technique for making peonies. I really appreciate that you showed that you do have to fuss about with the petals in order to get it to look right. Some people who may be somewhat new to sugar flowers may not realize this and become disappointed when the flower does not quite look right at first. Your work is very beautiful. Thank you for sharing!!
Michelle, this is beeaaauuuuutiful! Thank you so much for sharing. I've been an admirer of your work since I started decorating just over 2 years ago - your work is so clean and beautiful! AND you're a fellow Aussie which excites me! ha ha. Can I ask where you are? Which state?

Hi Michelle, thank you for sharing this very detailed video. I love looking at your beautiful cakes.
For me, yours are the best among the ones I get inspiration from. They're simple, yet very detailed and neatly done.
Thank you!
God bless.
