@johannsebastienbach He does add tensions, I played many Yiruma's pieces myself and analyzed his music, he does use tensions, 4th, 11th and in some other "unknown" pieces he does add b9, b13 and lots of sevenths. It wouldn't sound nice if he added a #9 and a #11..
Agh, I wish the sheet music was EXACTLY how he played it here. He played it different at some parts and it just seems so much more impacting that way. (Not that it's not already impacting.) But it gives even more respect for him -- being able to constantly do something different with his pieces.
@charmainesface agree with you. Im trying to learn this piece. I must say that most hard left hand parts (hard for me, im not sure if its hard for others), Yiruma played it in different way and I prefer that way >< Btw, it's very nice piece to play. You get full emotion when you play it, right ?
@freekevin1991 I'm having trouble with the left hand part as well :/ I can't seem to get a comfortable way to finger the left hand. It gets me soo annoyed cause i wanna be able to play this piece so bad!! D':
You can tell who's a real musician and who isn't when real musician's move with the music and pour every piece of their heart and soul into every single not.
david sides is bobbing for the same reason yiruma is expressing. If someone truely loves music they wouldn't care what others think and even if others didn't like it they would continue. Music is a escape for me. It's an output of my feelings; without hurting others with words they can feel it through the music...
@Ricex17 , i disagree; everyone has their own style of playing the piano. "bobbing" is just one of david sides styles, only giving them both different qualities; not only having different qualities in each pianist does it make it interesting, but it shows their way of how they feel while playing the piano; david sides is just a little more comfortable with "bobbing" as an expression of how he feels on the type of music he is playing.
This is for his daughter? Aww... So amazing. I can tell he's remembering and thinking a lot of things as he's playing it because of the range of expressions on his face...
I cant beleive he is so young and such a marvelous and accomplished pianist and composer. I am afraid that so many praises from his fans will somehow influence him in a negative way. I hope not.
@Smgah you can ^^ just need ten years of studying and practise wil the endless love with the piano I think you would be just like him or even more >:)
he has such great talent, and iruma deserves to be in the spotlight. He was born for it. I wish the best to himm. And wow. All of his songs are breathtakingly beautiful ESpecaiily Loanna also considering its for his daughter. :] I bet he's one awesome dad.
yea every male in South Korea HAVE to serve in the military so he can't do much about it...i'm guessing that's why i love his music so much...i mean, while he was in the military, he made new songs...what an inspiration...to even make music while in a place like that, or he made them right after he got back...his dedication for piano is deep...
man i can actually feel yiruma's emotion's when hes playing piano, this is not true when you hear david sides play piano "bobbing"his head which is overdoing it and not necessary, yiruma is a true pianist!
@WasabiNinjaz I know he is Christian.. I'm saying most of his music is New Age. If this Music Piece and other music pieces by him aren't New Age then what type of music is he playing? "Christian"? I know he released an album for Christian music but.. not this album.
@tindermo Again this is a late reply, but it is clearly well needed since you are still of the mindset that it is classical in some way. It is not classical in any way. It is modern contemporary. There are no other musical genres that can fit into the periods from Baroque to Contemporary, they are all separate.
It is nice, he's a true artist, but I do enjoy more of his recent compositions as I like deep/rich and he does a dynamo job with it. I'm sure he's classically trained (as where I'm a jazz man of Oscar Peterson) but anyways, hats off to his skill regardless of at the end of the keys I don't care as much for. Happy listening!
dud pretty hard to beileve but i found sheets somewhere on youtube. its sends you to a site click on the 2nd page and you will find the ones you want. Im learning this song and I cant wait to finish.
yeah the dude "FF4eternity"s yiruma videos have it
It's soo sweet for him to write a song for his little daughter :D <33 He must really love her :D i wish i had a did like that :D She's really lucky ^^
they might follow the same rules as in japan, where there is no difference between "r" and "l". he's korean, so i dont know if the same rule applies there
awesome.

Yiruma's taste for good melodies are great, but personally i think he needs to add more tension into his music to make it more durable to listening

plays also accompanied by a cello
